Becco

4.3

About this business

Inspired by his travels across Italy, Joe Bastianich opened Becco with his mom Lidia to much fanfare. The word Becco comes from the Italian verb beccare, meaning "to nibble." A great addition to Broadway's dining alternatives, the lovely restaurant is a popular pit stop for theater-goers. Sample their delectable prix-fixe pasta menu and the kitchen's redefinition of Italian flavors with an impressive wine list and seasonal cocktails.

Superb meal late on a Sunday afternoon...my partner and I both had the pasta special, consisting of penne with tomato and basil (good, but a bit pedestrian), cardoon ravioli with butter and fresh marjoram (excellent and unique), and fettucine with lamb ragu (incredible - the star of the show!!)...caesar salad and antipasti misto appetizers were also tasty...chose a crisp, delicious $29 rose (Anna's Secret) to accompany the meal...service was efficient and unobtrusive...overall, an outstanding value...highly recommended!!

Unaccommodating, unresponsive to a complaint. Plenty of other restaurants in NYC to choose from.

Love the meatballs, absolutely the best in NYC. Chef Gallagher makes the best. Love the Italian wine selection. Food was hot. Like the pasta special, specials and desserts. Good service. Great value in NY. Will be back! Diner Don

Delicious food, affordable prices and well worth the money! The special for $19.95 is all you can eat! I will definitely be coming back to try the other dishes.
