Becco

About this business

Inspired by his travels across Italy, Joe Bastianich opened Becco with his mom Lidia to much fanfare. The word Becco comes from the Italian verb beccare, meaning "to nibble." A great addition to Broadway's dining alternatives, the lovely restaurant is a popular pit stop for theater-goers. Sample their delectable prix-fixe pasta menu and the kitchen's redefinition of Italian flavors with an impressive wine list and seasonal cocktails.

I thought the food and service were amazing... the restaurant was insanely crowded, but still delicious!

Visited Becco on Wed, Nov 2nd. I have eaten there several times and enjoyed it. This time it was not good. I had the Cesar salad which was fine, but the pasta for the price fix dinner was awful. Spaghetti with mainara OK but not much sauce. Gnocci looked like they were cooked in the bottom of a muffin tin with no sauce and over done! Yuck. The pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage was not good either. Sausage way over cooked and tough. I'm sorry to say that the quality of the food was poor. Did not have coffee or dessert and ... read more

I love this place. I have been 6 or 7 times now and it has yet to let me down. My husband gets the symphony de pasta and I love the rib eye. Their salads and bread basket are great and desserts to die for. We will be back.

Although the staff was very accommodating by moving our reservation up 2 hours, our waiter was awful. We (12 of us) were seated and greeted and then not gotten back to for 15 minutes. We went to the bar to get our own drinks. We went thru 2 bread baskets rather quickly and asked 4 separate times for more which came after lunch was over. I had the greens, pear and Gorgonzola salad. My pear was so overripe I couldn't even keep it on my fork. Of the meals, the sauce in our lasagna was burnt which left it very bitter. The "all y... read more

Excellent Food..... atmosphere was very nice and romantic.... music could have been a little less loud. Hard to hold a conversation. Wait staff was courteous however, they were very fast to remove plates from table.

Went with my cousins and sat in the new upstairs room. It was exciting to be one of the first to enjoy this romantic nook in my favorite restaurant. The meal was fantastic. I recommend Splurging on the prosciutto and cheese plate !

The atmosphere was nice. The wait staff was great. The pasta trio everyone said to get? Meh... 2 of the dishes, spaghetti with tomato basil sauce was not seasoned AT ALL! the 2nd was penne with broccoli and garlic...I make that at home weekly, and it was ok. the 3rd was some kind of lasagna and it was weird! No one in my party liked it. the caeser salad was very good! Too may restaurants to try, so probably won't be back.

I have been to Becco restaurant a few times in the past and was very satisfied with the food. Yesterday was an exception. The pastas were terrible. the gnocchi tasted like mashed potatoes that were shaped like scallops and slightly browned. even the cookie dish my husband ordered for dessert tasted like they were old and stale. such a disappointment. with so many good restaurants in NYC I will not be going back to Becco

Never disappointed, as usual the three pasta meal was delish. Wait staff beyond accommodating. Always a great meal.
