Beacon Drive Inn

4.3

About this business

Considered a regional landmark and ranked as the second biggest drive-in restaurant in the country, The Beacon is a must-see for visitors looking to eat local comfort food. This old-fashioned drive-in is famous among South Carolinians for their friendly service, Beacon sweet tea (largest single seller of sweet tea in the country) and deliciously unhealthy menu staples like the chili cheese dog, onion rings, hush puppies, BBQ plates and fried fish baskets. The Beacon has everything you could want out of a Southern restaurant;... read more

My fiancé and myself took our nephew (who is autistic) to Spartanburg for a wrestling event and we stopped into the Beacon for lunch. Food was great and the service was beyond amazing! When my fiancé went to order the banana split, he told them about our visit and Brad. They made it special & brought it to our table & challenged Brad to an arm wrestling match. Brad won, of course! Made him feel good & we were blown away with their service. We will never forget that. Thank you!

The fries and onion rings were undercooked, cold, slimy and greasy. The burger was ok but certainly not world famous. Even the ketchup was bitter. Only the tea and lemonade was good.
