The menu is seasonal and the chefs experiment a lot with it. Beers and wine is served here which perfectly compliments the food. The decor is quite modern with stone textured walls and wooden tables which are arranged neatly. A truly unique experience.

My husband and I traveled from Dallas and went here for our 1st year wedding anniversary on July 3. A highly recommended place to go! We had their 11 course tasting menu and it was excellent. It's an experience that you can't forget. The same experience we had at 560 by Wolfgang Puck in Dallas back in Feb 14 of 2015. Amazing, amazing, amazing! The chef's counter menu was perfect, and they handled my food allergies expertly. My taste buds are still reeling. We will be back soon.
Words can not describe an experience at Barley Swine. You have to taste for yourself. Expect "wow" in your mouth every bite you take Be sure to sit at the Chefs bar...but not on the evenings we are there :} You have to witness & experience the preciceness that goes in to every plate. Our server Erin was sweet and joyful. And Nick... the masterly skilled Ex Sous Chef is the wizard in the kitchen! He inspects, taste & assures each plate is an exquisite masterpiece both design & taste wise. Experience the "wow"!
We came here to try the chefs menu. After seeing the first 3 items we were thinking, "wow how will we get full? It's so small!" But boy we're we wrong. We left stuffed and very pleased with the experience. It was delicious from beginning to end. So glad we stumbled upon this place while visiting Austin!
The service and food were both exceptional. Brandy Compton took great care of us and made my birthday feel really special. The portions were small (which makes perfect sense with such an elaborate, multi-course tasting menu), but crafted with great care given to show the best of every ingredient so they felt very "big". It's obvious why Barley Swine keeps getting JBF nominations. We can't wait to go back!
It's like grabbing a pig by the ears and riding it bucking and chucking to them midwest waves of grains. Barley Swine ain't BS: It a culinary ride across the country!
