Nothing but Great Things! I have nothing but great things to say about Southlake's Bark and Purr. I took my boxer there for 3 years and now I take my bulldog as well. The staff and owners are wonderful people and they provide excellent care for our pets. I would highly recommend them, I always know my dog is safe and well cared for.
good staff The staff was very friendly and explained everything upfront and gave us a tour of the facility. Our dog loved the place. As soon as we got there she could not wait to run in. I would recommend Southlake's Bark and Purr to anyone.
**PLEASE READ BEFORE TAKING YOUR ANIMAL HERE!!!!*** I used to work at Bark and Purr and I have to give a first hand account of what it is really like to have your animal boarded there. I feel that if I didnt let people know how horrible this place was I just wouldnt be doing the right thing. First of all when you bring your dogs to us the owners are superficially friendly. Also Also, this business has been here for a long time but, the problems look like they started with the new owner Whelan, Timothy G that purchased Bark and Purr in March of 2003. The owners before that did a great job and were wonderful people. I'm sure that the prior owner Peggy Giles would not have run her business this way.

Peace of mind during the storm During the hurricane Ike, my husband and I had to evacuate our home and find shelter away from the coming storm. When we got to the Dallas area, we looked all over for a kennel who would help us, and not charge an arm and a leg. When we called, they said it was $25.00 a day and there were no extra charges to walk our dog (Sophie) or for them to administer her thyroid medication. Bark & Purr Retreat is ?????? if you think your pet is treated good at Southlake's Bark and Purr Pet Reteat the you need to go around the corner to Elite Suites. They have a much more pet friendly place and yes they cost more but you get what you pay for.
