Dog & Cat Boarding We have two dogs and needed somewhere to leave them while on vacation. These folks are very friendly. They do an excellent job. They offer boarding, grooming, training, daycare, overnights, temp. controled rooms, and they love and pamper your pet. PROS: Bathing & Grooming, Daycare, Cat room, Training, Location is excellent CONS:

Don't believe me I posted pics on yahoo reviews I find it very funny how everyone blames the bad reviews on disgruntle employees and yet they never check out the conditions for themselves. I posted a pic of the breeding poodles...the cramp cat conditions...a dog shivering on the cold concrete in the middle of winter.. and the tore up floor with rebar that they try to hide during tours with sheet thin blankets that do nothing for the cold floor. Ask to walk all the way through the kennel. ALL THE WAY!! Trust me I was going to... read more

Wonderful My sister told me about Bark and Purr and we recently had to go out of town and needed a place to leave our puppy because no one in my family have an enclosed back yard. I was so impressed at how clean and nice the "retreat" was when we got there. The staff is very friendly and shows you around and lets you see where your pet will sleep and play. They explain everything to you and make you feel at ease leaving your pet there. The prices are very good and a lot less than we expected. You can even have them groommed ... read more

Horrible I used to work there for about 4 months and I quit. on their brochere its says oh we do this and this with your animals while they are here. blah blah blah. Ya they feed them and take them out all the time. But the cats are kept in this upstairs area where its warm and not confortable. The yare kept in a cage unless we are cleaning it then we put them right back in. Then the dogs they dont get walked only let out to go potty and we are not allowed to play with them or touch them unless we r puttting a leash on them.... read more

Isn't it strange? For the most part Bark and Purr Retreat is exactly what it should be. A reasonably safe environment where the animals are cared for by employees who enjoy the company of animals and don't just see the boarders as money. During my short period of employment my only issues were being blamed for a dog escaping into the scrap yard behind the kennels after it managed to slip underneath a bad spot in the chain link fencing. The dog was caught by the owner Tim, and myself, and returned but its feet were torn up fr... read more

Very Happy Customer... I have to say that I'm a bit outraged by the negativity that I have read here. My first comment has to be to those who have posted anonymously - Is it because your a coward or a lier ? I was referred to Bark and Purr by the breeder I purchased my dog from. Having never left my dog (of less than one year at the time) anywhere before, I was a bit ambivalent to do so. I was bringing my standard poodle there to be groomed and had nothing but great results. Tim the owner gave me a tour and eased my fears of... read more

Always Happy My dog is always happy after a day at Southlake's Bark and Purr. When she gets home she is exhausted, which makes me happy. ;) Thanks for taking such great care of her.
