NEVER sign up for any plan with Banfield. I've spent hours on the phone trying to cancel my plan for 5 months now, for a dead dog. The more I look into it the more I find many other people being scammed by this wellness plan. One family actually had their plan renew, 6 months after the animal was put to sleep and was informed they had to finish the automatically renewed contract. Banfield condemned my dog to death when really it was garbage he got into! I took my dog to banfield greensburg. He hadnt been eating. I explained he had gotten into garbage. They ran test that they charged over $800 and then told me he was filled with cancer and wanted to put him down. Over $300 more for that. Me being selfish wanted 1 more night. Banfield is the worst company and will bill you in correctly and will up your plan and the price. I have been trying to deal with them and it has been a nightmare. They have overcharged me, sent the bills to the wrong email and then sent me to collections and thats when I finally get a notice in the mail. I had taken a wellness plan on two of my pets. I had to have one put down in November 2019. I did not realize that I was responsible to notify the Banfield pet plan that my pet was put down. I made an incorrect assumption that since both organizations were Banfield they would notify the other of the occurrence. As it turned out, they did notify each other but it was my responsibility to stop the payments on my deceased pet. Do not use Banfield Pet Hospital, ever. If you have them, switch when your contract ends. We were with them for 14 years, had subpar service, but it is what we could afford. They nickel and dimed us the ENTIRE 14 years. I called to cancel because my pet passed away and was told since she had been in the week before that we owed close to $600 because they ran tests, etc. that day. What in the world!!! They DONT walk your dog even if yours dog has diarrhea. What kind of place is this. My poor dog hold her diarrhea and vomit for 9 HOURS. ANimal cruelty don’t take your dog to this one. There are better bandfields. When I picked her up she was fooling out of her mouth, scared, pooped all over the exit. TERRIBLE. Banfield wellness plan double charges for a vet visit. $60 to see the vet and another almost $60 to touch your pet. Be aware of this plan. You only get 15% off meds as well. What kind of plan is this??!! I bet most of the employees selling it to their customers don’t even realize it. I canceled my plan. I suggest getting REAL pet insurance. It’s cheaper to go to Banfield without it. The 1 Star is for the wellness plan.
