Took My dog to Banfield Pet Hospital in Garland for Castration.I was told it will cost $ 350 ,no preoperative evaluation or exam ,Later that day I went to pick up my dog and i was told ,I need to pay $ 240 ,and no surgery done ,because of abnormal liver test and I should buy their nutritional supplement and come back after one months and pay again for surgery .I am a medical Doctor myself and this appears very odd not to do any preoperative test and on the day of surgery do blood tests and ask me to pay without my dog even h... read more
We've never had an issue with Marina Pet
You can't get any better than Dr.Melcon and everyone at the Marina Pet hospital. I get teary eyed with emotion writing how great they are all there. I have been dog walking for 14 years now and I have seen some pretty pathetic veterinary care with so many critical wrong diagnosis but have never had a mis diagnosis by Dr. Melcon
Great place with very knowlegeable and friendly people. My 2-month-old puppy was completely calm and relaxed the whole time, even when she was getting a shot, and I credit the vet's friendly and calming demeanor. It's also easy to get an appointment (I got my puppy on Sunday and had an appointment for her shots on Monday) and the health coverage that the hospital offers is comprehensive and relatively inexpensive. All around good experience and great quality of care.
When I first brought my cat Velvet in it was okay. However, in August 2014 I went in because she needed more medication for her hyperthyroidism and I was told that the doctor refused to have it filled until she saw Velvet again. My problem with that was financially I was strapped and had money to purchase her medication but not enough to pay for an office visit and blood work. I got the impression that they are more concerned with the money and not the welfare of the pets.
Dr. Wolfe is very knowledgeable, personable, and accessible. I never felt rushed with her. She really helped my Dalmatian live a long, comfortable life.
We liked the doctors well enough
I have been bringing my pet Yorkie, Benny Bear to Marina Pet Hospital for many many years. I would have to say, this is one of the BEST hospitals I've ever been to. Right when I walk in the door I'm greeted with smiles. They seem to also remember my name and my Yorke's name. The girls at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. very enjoyable to chat with. I've been here many times now to get checkups, fecal tests, and fill out forms. Each time is a good experience, and my dog, Eevee loves it here! We go in and her tail wags like crazy!!! It's a completely different experience than my other dogs had at different vets. No tail between the legs or whimpering. Eevee remembers the staff here as the people who made her feel happy again.
