Booked after reading all the wonderful reviews and seeing stunning pictures of the rooms. Sadly we didn’t have such room. We were led to the back of the house into the basement where we our entrance door was covered with ply board. With the entrance window covered with ply - naturally we didn’t not feel safe during our stay and spent as little time as possible in the room during our stay. We stayed here for a long weekend and it was an ideal location. Up a hill so there were stunning views across the town to the green hills beyond but convenient for walking into town to eat in the evening. The room itself was a reasonable size with both wardrobe space and drawers for clothes, the fridge and kitchenette was adequate (we only used it for breakfast and making tea/coffee) and the bath with shower over was appreciated. The mattress on the bed may need replacing soon as we could feel the springs but we slept ok.

Booked a 2 night break and we stayed in The Bateman Suite with in the Bagshaw hall. Could not fault the room at all, The Staff greeted us when we arrived, they showed us to our room with no problems apart from when we went to have a shower we couldn't get the hot water to work lol, but this was easy sorted straight away after we contacted the staff. Currently staying in one of the rooms in the lodge . I just want to go home !! Mattress ....I can feel every spring ...its painful on my bones...its going to be a long night !. 🌙 Room not particularly clean Walls messy No curtains ...just an old blind with holes in it . Dogs yapping in another room. Roll on tomorrow morning...!!
