Baco Mercat

4.5

About this business

Be it Middle Eastern, Mexican, Japanese, or Chinese, this restaurant draws from Los Angeles' international influences and manages to astound at every turn. It's known for its "baco" sandwiches, especially the pork belly and veal tongue, served on amazing house-made flatbread. The sichuan "ribs," made from chicken thighs, are not to be missed, though it's hard to go wrong with any of the small plates served here. The restaurant itself has the fun, casual feeling of a bar, and is packed with a hip crowd most evenings.

Awesome restaurant! We booked a reservation for 9:15pm as that was the earliest we could get a reservation on a Sunday night, Anna was our server and she was so attentive, patient, knowledgeable and kind to us, even when we were the only ones left in the restaurant. We didn't have to wait long for food or drinks and had an overall amazing experience. :)

Had a late dinner with my cousin and her boyfriend who live downtown and had yet to eat here. Cool atmosphere that was still bustling around 9:30 which is great. Took a while to figure out what we wanted because the menu is very unique and a good size. Everything we ordered was great. The lamb riblets are highly recommended, along with The Toron sandwich. All dishes had great, unique flavors and we were pleasantly surprised. Great cocktails as well! No wonder they are consistent ranked in DTLA's best restaurants!
