My wife and I visited Audio Gold for the first time today. We thought we might just pick up a new phono stage, got talking about speakers, and walked out with the most beautiful pair of Epos. It’s a wondrous space—everywhere you look, there’s a slice of hi-fi history, every shelf filled with beauty. Passed by this shop many times, but was always at the wrong times when they were closed! Indeed the place was as I hoped, a complete time warp, and very interesting to look at vintage equipment that was made, not chucked together. I have some vintage Hi-Fi myself, some reel to reel recorders and vintage Thorens Turntables. I restore and repair equipment myself, so I'm not likely to be one of their customers in future. They have always given me excellent advice when building up my system, and let me try out a subwoofer before committing to buy it. Good coffee too!
I love this place. Very helpful decent people who will sell you what you want at the price point you stipulate. I will definitely keep going back. I bought an Amp and Speakers. I'll buy records from then soon.
