I have solar and am getting tired of APS billing me over $137 a month for fees and taxes for generating my own electricity. APS clamps the bill is for”Electricity Services”. Looks to me it is actually “Racketeering.”and nothing more. I have had nothing but problems from APS since I moved my family to Arizona to work for Sherry Flight Systems in 1974. Am an example, before I got solar, APS was adding electrical charges because “ we used less energy than our neighbors” and they refused to reimburse me for the over charges.

They shut my power off on an excessive Heat warning day in Phoenix Arizona because I didn’t pay them the remaining amount of my deposit. They gave no warning in the mail or a phone all. I paid the full amount 15 minutes after they shut it off and I am still without power. It’s been 6 hours without AC on an excessive heat warning day in one of the hottest states in the country. It’s 100 degrees in my apartment and all the food in my fridge has spoiled and I am still without power.

I have just been charged a $900 DEPOSIT for an account that I have had with this company for EIGHT YEARS--this in addition to my account being paid in FULL with a 60 dollar CREDIT for the last billing cycle. I have NEVER had any delinquent payments or issues with my payments not made monthly. This is the ONLY electric company available for my county and with these "extra" expenses and "deposits" that you never see again--it is the true definition of an UNFAIR MONOPOLY at the consumers' expense!

Just so you know..... APS has submitted over $131,000 towards Governor ***** ***** Re-Elect!! That’s only what is able to be tracked! What this means is they have to get the money from somewhere and it’s one of the Very Reasons WHY they have consistently been able to Screw Arizona Residents! Most recently they required security deposits from a ton of residents right before summer! What you don’t know is that This is why they can disconnect Service’s during the Hottest time of the year!!! Did you set up payment arrangements? ... read more

APS has a monopoly for power in most of the Phoenix area. As a result they charge ridiculously high prices when compared with a SRP and City of Mesa, which are smaller but much more cost effective companies. Unfortunately, the power you receive in the Phoenix area is dependent upon where you live, so there are no choices. The prices per kilowatt hour are obscene and a disgrace, and I wish something could be done.

APS is an absolute disgrace to America. I have had APS for about 5 years now payments always made on time never requested a security deposit upon starting service. One month I receive my bill and opened it up to a $650 due payment! Looking into the bill I was charged on random a $450 security deposit for "2 late payments". After reviewing all of my bills for the past 12 months I have never been late once and never assessed a "late payment" and then they randomly add an additional $450 deposit right before the summer time. Le... read more

This company will use the power of a legal monopoly to completely scrape the insides of your pockets. When I set up my electric account, they originally told me my credit score passed in order to not have to pay a deposit (it is in the 790's). I later was informed (several weeks after) that I was not eligible for waiving the deposit. When I asked the reason, all I got was the vague answer, "the Equifax report said you were not eligible." I inquired via phone twice and via email and received the same response. Equifax is wher... read more

Hold time is more than 45 min when waiting on a supervisor. When trying to get them to change out their "Smart" meter they charge you for a service call because "communication from the smart meter to the office is fine" even if it reads power consumption wrong

I'm a middle class 36 year old male that pays my bills on time. Never have any issues with any of the companies that collect from me every month. EXCEPT for APS. I have a 2,000 sq ft home in Surprise, Arizona, and generally bills are around $200 a month. A bit more in the summer. For some reason, this last summer, I stopped receiving any kind of a bill from them, despite not opting out of them. I started making $200.00 payments every month figuring that was around what my bill was, but I was wrong. They were sending me $400 ... read more
