We paid $75 for a bag of apples that were impossible to find because the whole orchard was damaged from the hail storm a few weeks ago (we found out from a worker after we were done). We won't come back and have been coming for 7 years but we did try some place else last year that was way too expensive and the whole time talked about how much we missed Apple Holler. We showed up 13 minutes after you opened and the amount of people in line was crazy, then when we finally got to purchase our bag and were charged $75, it was th... read more

Business response:

Dear Alissa, Yes, we were extremely busy this weekend. We're sorry to hear that you had a hard time finding apples. We have a very large orchard with over 30,000 fruit trees on 60 acres with over 30 different varieties of apples. Because it is so large we employ staff specifically to help our guests find the varieties they want. Yes, we did have a hail storm about a month ago. But many parts of the orchard were untouched by the storm and over the weekend we picked Honeycrisp, Gala, Fuji, Snowsweet, Golden Supreme and McIntos... read more

I'm from Chicago and I can never get my family out of the city. We are all workaholics but I was determined to enjoy our Saturday out of the city. Myself, my 2 daughters, my mom and dad came to Apple Holler and had the best time. We went to the apple orchard and got wonderful golden supreme & honey crisp. My two year old enjoyed eating and walking through the orchard. My father loved reaching for high apples that were ripe. We worked up an appetite and went to the restaurant. Service was outstanding. The buffet was delicious... read more

I really like Apple Holler! I know some people think they are pricey but it's a small family farm that is trying to survive. They provide a really nice apple picking experience and I love all the stuff they have for kids: goats, pigs, horses, a corn maze, a playground, etc. My kiddos love it there and I am happy to keep supporting Apple Holler. Also, the apple cider donuts are yum yum yummy!

Business response:

Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, it is a family run farm and restaurant. Thank you for supporting us! We are glad you enjoyed your apple picking experience and our apple cider donuts.

Prices doubled from 2014. Now they force you to pay for the kids attractions regardless if you want to go or not. $60 for 2 adults and 1 eight year old. We have gone to the Apple Holler for a few years now and drive in from Chicago to do so. Will not be returning next year.

Business response:

Hi Melanie Cisonno Meier, Thank you for visiting Apple Holler and letting us know how we are doing. We apologize that your visit did not meet your expectations. Our pricing is the same as last year and we have decreased some of the children’s admission prices this year. We are dedicated to providing a full-day experience for our guests with our apple picking prices including each individual receiving their own bag to fill with apples right-off-the-orchard-tree, free apple tasting while in the orchard, all day admission to ou... read more

Such a waste of a visit not the same on how it used to be! 5.00 to park in the parking lot otherwise park on the street for free. They have sherrifs directing traffic in the parking lot? Come on! 20.00 per person to get into the animal park and Apple picking! Found a bone in my chicken pot pie from the buffet! Will never return!

What a utter and complete ripoff this place has become. I write this while sitting on a bench outside the orchard waiting for the rest of my family to pick apples and look at the animals etc... We drove an hour and a half to come for some affordable family fun with our Apple Hollar club cards in hand, something we've done most years. Never ever again.. Used to be able to have breakfast and all sorts of orchard fun and leave with tons of apples for like $55 now it would have cost us like $90 because they raised their prices t... read more

Business response:

Dear Mike Stankiewicz , Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our farm, however, we're very sorry that you didn’t have anything less than a great time. Our pricing is the same as last year and we have decreased some of the children’s admission prices this year. We do try to focus on the entire farm experience. The $20 Apple Farm Picking Package Admission includes the orchard tour wagon ride, a picking bag that fits about 6 to 7 lbs. of apples, plus apple tasting as you pick and all day admission to the fun farm park... read more

Only stopped in for dinner on our travels drawn in by your name. We were delighted with our dining experience, the ambiance, waitstaffs outfits, service, all top notch. Also enjoyed the bakery & gift shop. When we travel this area again we will definitely put you on our list of places to stop.
