My primary doctor referred me in November first appointment avail with Barker was February, 3 months later. Went in and he refused to treat my pain til I saw a neurologist. Could not get in there for another 3 months in May. Got that over with and neurologist agreed yes I am in pain. Called for appointment with Barker now I have to wait another 3 weeks to see him. At my original appointment he actually told me he did not believe in pain medications. I said then lets do something else to alleviate the pain, he said no.
Doesn't listen to the patient, rude and he is cocky!!
After years of dealing with pain management that treats you like a meth head, Dr. Barker was a God send who after surgery brought my wife off of 8 years of high dose opiates. He listened, empathized and took his time. Words aren’t enough to say what a great doctor he is.
Dr Barker is the worst doctor to go to for pain and probably anything else. He does not care about his patients and refuses to treat pain. He hides behind his staff and makes them be the bad guys. His exact quote that was relayed to us was “the pain/injury doesn’t warrant any pain medication”. How can you give an opinion on someone’s pain if you only aren’t experiencing the same thing or if you haven’t examined the patient. He loves to pass patients off.
I wasted 2 years of my life with this clown! Despite the fact that I wasn't on scheduled pain meds, he seemed rather dismissive about my pain. He was a very unpleasant person to work with and he seems to put up with patients for the moment until he puts in enough time to only work surgery cases. That way he won't have to put up patients. And to throw out a whole class of pain meds is ludicrous.
Dr. Barker is the best for pain management. He has listened, treated, and made necessary referrals. I believe the care he provides to me would be equivalent to what he would provide to his family members. I like his non-narcotic approach. He goes above and beyond.
Dr Barker is great listens to you cares about his patients. Also always on time with his appointment. Love this guy.
Dr Barker is a very good doctor he actually listens to your problems of the the pain your having and gives you choices on how to proceed, most doctors say this is what your going to do and not ones thinking or listening to you on what problems your having, if he ever moved to another city I would probably follow him because he’s a doctor that actually cares and I can trust him to always do the right things to help me with my pain. If you ever need a very good Doctor this is the one you can trust
I allowed Dr Barker to do 8 injections in my lumbar two weeks ago. These were designed to ease my pain. I have been in even more pain than pre injections and can only get “ hot showers and otc pain relievers” as advice from his nurse. I have a follow up appointment in a few weeks and at that time in quite certain one of us will dismiss the other either patient or physician. I certainly wish I had read the reviews before I allowed st Francis referral network to schedule me with him.
