Great place to stay with clean rooms at a great price will be first on my list for places to stay when in Brighton and a very short walk to the beach and about 5 minutes from the peir

We spent two nights at this property and the room yes does look large and lovely for a large double good price with a good view of the sea. Upon closer inspection we found that the place was absolutely filthy thick with dirt and dust as shown in my pictures . When speaking to the manager about this . I showed him around the room, he basically said to me what do you want me to do about it? I told him clean it . He got a bath towel , throw it around a bit to look like he was dusting sprayed some of the surfaces as well and lef... read more

The two of us spent 2 nights in Brighton and decided on the Amherst as it looked really nice and cosy. Unfortunately, it was somehow different from what we had imagined. There is no reception - you have to contact the operators in advance to get a code sent to you. Unfortunately, we didn't realise this, but we were noticed at the door and were allowed to check into our room straight away, even though we were there too early. So far so good. Booked hotel through buyagift. Hotel wanted 24 hours notice for arrival as no front desk - no one answered emails or phones at all (even from buyagift). Was lucky that housekeeper let us in. Room was small (1) and needed repairs. Had cooking facilities but no pots/pans. Fairly clean. Was next to front door so heard everyone coming and going. Window latches and cords were broken, could open but not leave that way. Good location near the sea front. 2 night stay but would not have stayed there for longer trip.
