Apparently there are many unhappy Amerigas customers, and now we're joining the chorus. We've had an account with Amerigas for over 5 years and have been completely unable to reach anyone at the Colchester (CT) Amerigas hub by phone or by using their online contact system. This company has gone downhill over the past year. They run a rag tag operation with no REAL customer service. I had a new tank hooked up a few moths ago and there was only 25% capacity. i was told I would get a delivery. I didn't get one. The policy that the associate whom I got on the phone told me that I needed to pay $300 for an emergency delivery, I spoke to three other associates, same story. The company has essentially abandoned my wife and I for almost 3 weeks, out of propane on 3 occasions. POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS GAS LEAK FINALLY FIXED AFTER 2 WEEKS AND NUMEROUS CALLS. We are elderly, one with cancer, one with arthritis, both over 65. No heat, no hot water, no stove. It is winter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO SERVICE, JUST LIES ABOUT WHEN WE WILL GET SOME GAS. I have never been treated this badly by anyone.
The worst customer service of any company I have ever interacted with. I bought a house and there was an Amerigas tank there from the previous owner, so I figured I would go with them for my propane needs. Big mistake!! I had 5 scheduled appointments that were all no-call, no- show from Amerigas. Every time they didn't show up I had to call to set up another service call. DO NOT USE!!! I received an invoice today from Amerigas. I do not use Amerigas and cancelled any previous contact with Amerigas. In September I called Amerigas to deliver propane to my house. The came and looked my my fireplaces to ensure all was in order, but did not delivery any propane. I called after 15 days to inquire and they said it was an error on delivery. Amerigas had been my propane supplier for the past 4 years, because I thought I had to stick with the company who owned the tank. Year after year they have raised my propane rate, much higher than what other competitors are charging. When they offered for me to lock in at $2.96 per gallon for the winter 2020/21, I had had enough and switched to another company who's rate is $1.78 per gallon. Do not bother trying to use this company! I am only giving one star because zero is not an option! I called and waited nearly an hour to schedule an appointment for ******** *********(Amerigas) in ****** ****, MO to look at my propane fireplace and gas gauge on my underground tank. Terrible customer service. I called in to get our propane tank refilled and 2 1/2 weeks later they still had not filled it. The tank was totally empty (note we use it for our furnace, stove and water heater). We are in the dead of winter (30 degrees). I called 6 times and was told someone would call me back to let me know when it would be delivered. Never happened.
