These people are garbage. I moved into a house that, for whatever reason, has a propane stove. The tank was older and leaking when I moved in so I called Amerigas to replace it. They did, and came out fairly quickly. The rates were good so I decided to keep the service. I was given a tank and told them I wanted to pay up front and call when I needed more. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I don't usually leave reviews, but I couldn't let something like this happen to someone else. They have been absolutely terrible, and they don't care at all about their customers. We scheduled a delivery for a propane refill, and they kept bumping us back. Because they did this we ended up running out of propane to heat our house. My 5 and 8 year old have been without heat and warm water for 3 days! There is a reason AmeriGas has a 1 star rating. I would give them less if possible. We had been with our local company (Tenbrooks) for at least 50 years, but then AmeriGas bought them, and it has been downhill since. They have ZERO customer service ! You cannot talk to a real person! If you do get through to a person, it is at least a 45 minute wait. Their fees are outrageous as well ! I am an automatic propane delivery customer. The business web site shows that my propane level was low and a delivery was scheduled on January 6th. Today is February 3rd and we have entered the third day without heat, hot water and stove. The first day I was told that it was on its way. Yesterday I was told that it was to be delivered tomorrow and I had to pay extra if I wanted an emergency delivery. As most people using propane are living in rural situations their dependence on propane is critical. Amerigas took over my local propane company who used to fill the tank at 20% capacity. The first year they denied us propane in the middle of winter as we used it for a "decorative fireplace" Untrue, we use it for heating the entire house, an old house in the country on a gravel road. I’m a new customer with 3 kids, I needed to get a delivery but told me I needed to finish setting up my account before they could delivery me propane, but mind you they delivered me propane already! So now when I need it the most they can’t get me propane cause my account isn’t set up but sent me propane?!? Anybody getting this? So now they have to call me back to set it up witch could take 2 days on top of the 7 it takes them to deliver and I only live a mile from there! I have been a customer in good standing with AmeriGas for 6 years. I made a multitude of calls and was promised an expedited delivery. I even emailed the main office in PA. No response and no delivery. My tanks are EMPTY!!!! They didn't care that I was totally out of propane - wow! Terrible. I have already switched to a different company and can't wait to they take away their tanks. Absolutely no regard for their customers.
I moved and had my account closed, made sure my tank was empty and had to call numerous times for them to pick the tank up. I received a letter dated 1/19/21 for collections! There was a $20 credit on my account before I closed it. They charged me a "pick up" fee! Since I moved my bill never came to me and now it's up for collections. Why am I being punished with a fee for moving and closing the account?! I called and was told by multiple reps to call different numbers and have yet to get a resolution! I’ve been out of propane for days and have not even gotten a call from the emergency line. They sent a driver who went to the wrong tank, said it was full and left, without asking why I said the tank was empty, they left and texted me. I wait for 30 minutes to talk to a service representative who can’t fix my problem and tell me someone will call back who never does. Even the website times out before they can pull up my account.
