We live in the mountains of Colorado, where the winter temp is often below zero. Our home has been an Amerigas customer for many years. For the last three years, we have paid Amerigas to "check and fill" our tank - promising to deliver propane when our 350 gal tank gets below 20%. They aquired a local company as we were leaving that company. We called them to come pickup our rented tank (our original contact had no fee to pickup) there was no mention of a $75 fee either. I have tried contacting them multiple times via phone, waiting on hold for over an hour on 3 separate occasions, never connected with a representative. It took so long to get propane at our office, I believe we'd have got more action waiting on fumes from fracking! Undeniably the worst customer service ever. They tell you "it's on the way within 72 hours" but of course it never arrives. Constantly put on hold, or hang up. Our local propane company was bought out by these losers. Propane was delivered when I wasn't home. Driver locked the tank at that time - explanation from customer care days later was that my tank was too low, so the driver filled the tank and left. No communication - didn't know that my tank was locked until I went to take a shower this morning and had no hot water. No hot water, no heat, no oven. Absolutely terrible service. I put in for a delivery online on 1/02/2021 with both tanks at 50%. I did it so early knowing they were extremely backed up, thinking I would get it by the time I really needed it. I was told it would be here by the 18th. It is now the 25th and I have yet to receive the delivery. I've called 5 times since the 19th and have been continuously told it would definitely be the next day, the next day, the next day. Avoid doing business with this company. Absolutely terrible customer service. Company does not respond to to billing errors and continues to bill for services we did not receive. Company never responded when we requested propane delivery and a larger tank, so we found another provider. Impossible to reach the company; no response to multiple emails and letters sent, unreasonably long hold times and no ability to leave a message or request a call back. Should not have a license to do business in Missouri.
I have been an AmeriGas customer for 30 years with very few issues. I am on a budget plan, part of which is to be automatic delivery. For the second month in a row, they skipped me for delivery. I have to call over 6 times each month to get them to deliver even after telling them I am completely/nearly out of propane, I live in SW PA, and it is below freezing outside. Pitiful company, ordered propane 12/30/20 as of today 1/25/21 an several calls still no propane
Every other review I have read echoes what I want to say - Amerigas has NO customer service, Dealing with them is beyond hopeless. Endless run around from "customer service" to "customer advocacy" to "emergency", even the executive offices. Promises are made, but never kept. Calls are not returned - help is NOT on the way. My business would be out of business if it were run this way. Amerigas does not deserve my business or yours. Look elsewhere.
