I recently had surgery on ll/13/2020 and needed a ride home from the surgical center at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane WA.. as required by the anesthesiologist. I did not have a ride so they made arrangements for AMR to take me home. I was in the recovery area and had just woke up and the nurse informed me AMR was scheduled to pick me up at 3 PM so we had to hurry and get me dressed so I would be ready for them to pick me up. My insurance covered my ambulance ride 100%, and yet I received a bill and a letter saying they would send me to collections in 10 days. I called customer service and the rude man I spoke with said it would take 30-45 days to review. I said that I could provide him with a check number and reference number from the insurance company or that we could conference call them to verify. He said no, that is someone else’s job. I had to ask 3 times to get him to state that I would not be sent to collections while they review it. I as... read more

I had my dying transported to a local hospital from Regency North Bend, WA to Swedish Hospital in Issaquah on the evening of 11/20/20. First off they refused to let us go to the hospital of our choice saying it was too far, even thou that hospital had all of her records. Secondly, one of the female drivers was the most rude and condiscenting individual I have ever deal with in health care. How she ever got the job is beyond me. On Saturday, November 14, 2020 Ambulance #40 responded to an emergency involving my mother. Paramedic ASHLEY ***** was the most INSENSITIVE, HEARTLESS and CONDESENDING first responder I have ever met. She kept telling my mother (at least four times) there wasn't anything that she could do for her. My mother had threw up several times and had been instructed, by a doctor, to seek emergency attention if this happened. Saturday 11/14/20 at 7:15pm at Riddle Hospital 2 Amr employees were picking up our 93 yr old father and taking him to a local nursing home. My sister and I were waiting outside the hospital for an hour, to steal a glimpse of our father who we haven’t seen since March 2020 before the shut down. They were so understanding and willing to help us! We told them it was a surprise. Firstly, they are only getting ONE Star because it wont accept less than that to submit my review of American Medical Response! They don't deserve any stars at all!!! AMR billing is the worst I have ever dealt with! They are completely unorganized and unprofessional. I have been told the same answer for months on end for a service provided when my sister was transferred between hospitals. Billing and customer service departments are a nightmare! After setting up a payment plan for 2 ambulance services, we asked for a copy of the agreement that indicated how much and when the payment was due. We were told “we can’t provide you that”. Seriously? AMR you can’t...or won’t? Don’t want to have an agreement showing people paid when the easier option is to turn over to collections. My daughter used AMR last year and AMR erroneously billed my insurance under my name. After repeated attempts (16) phone calls to have them bill the correct person, AMR decided to send my daughter to collections. This is after talking to many offshore managers who either said they would resubmit the bill correctly to Blue Shield or just hung up when they were informed that they were being recorded. Called 6 different times today to provide my Work Comp insurance info, Kept being asked for SSN and personal information from Customer Service Reps that could barely speak English, Why would I need to provide my personal info and SSN for a bill that Work Comp is paying for? Seem suspicious. So i called the Attorney General and explained the issue.
