I keep receiving bills in the mail from AMR. They don't have my last name on the bill, just first and middle name and are threatening to turn my account over to a collections agency "which may adversely affect your credit score." The big problem is I've never had to use an ambulance in my life. I've called them several times with no relief. It looks and feels like a complete scam by this company.

My son was in an accident, the paramedics who responded stood there and did nothing to help while his friends were seeing about him. They did not put a neck brace on him or even help him onto the stretcher. They were more concerned about what he was on (which was nothing) than helping him. He has 4 fractures in his back and had emergency surgery to check for internal injuries.

AMR has the absolute worst billing practices. After only three months since the trip, got a letter for balance billing (which by the way is illegal in CA, AB72). We made calls to AMR, to health insurance, to try to get this all settled. Less than one month later (mind you, less than four months now from trip), get a letter stating the balance is due within 10 days or else it's going to collections. On 2/16/18, I received a pre-collection notice that provided 10 days to respond or pay. This notice was not based on business days or include any mail time which was received at nearly the end of the period. The letter also advised me to work with my insurance company which issued the proper amount. The letter did allow for payments to be mailed within 10 days and I attempted to pay my bill in full online for the weekend after the 10th day (which would have been a total of less than 10 days with mail time) and was blocked by... read more

I have been trying to get a bill settled. Someone got into a car accident and used my lost ID to take an ambulance ride. I was not the person that used your services. I have submitted a police report about it, my labor reports from my corporate office stating that I was at work, I even sent a map of where I work vs where your invoice says the accident happened. Family member (limited English speaker), non emergent, asked to be taken to Eisenhower by patient and family but taken to jfk without consent. EMT did not allow spouse who spoke English to interpret for him enter the ambulance. My son has a medical emergency on November 4, 2015 and needed to be transported by ambulance to the hospital. Now, almost a year and half later we start getting calls from a collection agency about an unpaid bill. I call the collection agency who tells me who it is from, AMR. We never received any BILLs in the past from them at all and they sent it to collections. My disabled father unfortunately needed a ride home from the hospital due to oxygen...so AMR was used. $800+ dollars later to travel 4 miles, I get a precollection notice. 4.Jan.2017 - My 6 month old daughter was diagnosed with RSV. We were transported by AMR from one hospital to another (Total trip billed 24 miles). We ended up staying the night at the hospital and released the next day. 1.May.2017 - We received our first bill from AMR. Yes that's correct almost 4 months later.
