AMR emts were very good. Billing appears fraudulent, inaccurate arithmetic, indecipherable billing layout, payments not delineated. awful i will contact our local hospital and ask them NOT to use their services

First they send me a huge bill claiming my insurance company said that they will not contribute anything. I call my insurance company, they say they paid 70% of the bill. I send a check for the rest. Money for patient responsibility is deposited on 4/27. On 4/29, they send me another bill saying that I owe the patient responsibility that they just deposited. I’m writing this during the pandemic. I received a bill from AMR because my hospital transferred me to another hospital. When I started receiving bills from AMR I tried calling them multiple times, every time I got a message that they are not answering phone calls from customers. The next thing I know I got a collection letter and a message from Equifax, this is about a week after I pay the bill and let them know that the bill was paid. Businesses who send out collection notices during the pandemic are the worst kind of scum... read more

They have came to my house to take me to the hospital and why are they out of network when they are here in Waco! ! I don't understand why they charge so much for taking you to a local hospital? ? And the miles?? Unreal!! How do you get someone in network to come and get you!!??

Received a bill for an ambulance ride belonging to someone else with my name. The service was given in an area 9 hours from where I live. I called and gave them my information and they said the birth date was wrong so they confirmed it wasn't me. They also stated they do a search on the name and literally send out bills when they don't get the person's information that is riding in the ambulance at time of service. AMR is very terrible and pretends to be oblivious with people complaints. I got into an car accident with my mother (who was driving) and my mother fracture her foot while I had glass shattered on the side my face. My mother was so much in pain , i didn't feel the glass at the time and AMR came to take my mother. I was going to wait for my father to pick me up but my mother beg not to be left alone, she was afraid and in pain badly. AMR driver say you can come with your mother which i did. Acceptable service by the ambulance crew, but obscenely-high charges (over $850) for a short trip (2+ miles) from the hospital to the Rehab center; and absolutely horrible follow-up customer "service" by their off-shore (Philippines?) phone reps. Refused to explain an add-on charge on my bill, and told me that it was "against the law" to discuss "specific" charges. To start I was happy with the services transferring my son from one hospital to another. The EMTs were wonderful. However, I received a bill less then a week ago for the balance which I have no issues paying and someone already called for payment! They’ve given me no time to pay! The guy who called asked to speak with my six year old son, and when I explained he was six I said I was his mother. AMR is the worst. trying to talk to customer service is like talking to a brick wall. my insurance company is not contracted with AMR, however when you're unconscious and or unable to give permission who to use. AMR takes you anyway which is the right thing to do or someone unable to make decisions for themselves or their own on conscience. I literally live two and a half miles from the ER. but they still bill like $1,800. even though my insurance does not have a contract with a AMR.
