They will not negotiate contracts with insurance. They are very unhelpful and will not honor insurance discounts. They refused to place a hold on my account (requested by my insurance) while they were appealing the coverage internally. Their rates are unfair and unreasonable. I would not suggest anyone use them if you have a choice. If you don’t have a choice, I hope they work with you better than they have us.

I am currently under cancer treatment for the past 17 months and am also a military disabled veteran. On 1/25/2019 my family and friends called 911 because I was having a drug reaction to a prescription medication. When AMR-Lifeline showed up the employees were clearly informed by 3 different people in my home that I was having a drug reaction. I am having a hard time dealing with AMR's billing area in Akron, OH. My mother was in a rehabilitation facility when she suffered a sudden cardiac episode. The ambulance was called to transport her to the hospital but she died before they were able to transfer her. Initially, the insurance company denied the ambulance claim, the denial was appealed with the insurance company and eventually overturned, paying the ambulance claim. Leaving a $25 copay. I included them in my bankruptcy filing. About two weeks after my meeting of creditors, I get a notice in the mail from them threatening to send my account to collections if I did not pay. I contact them saying that this is prohibited per the automatic stay, and they claimed that, despite receiving notice, they had to ignore it because my trip number was not included. I sent them a copy of my filing notice with my trip number written in, and now they are wanting proof that they were included!! This is absolute BS that I have... read more

THEY DO NOT DESERVE ANY STARS ! I WOULD GIVE THEM MINUS 100. I was transported in the ambulance on January 29, 2019. I received a notice from them dated February 15, 2019 ( 12 working days later) with a PRE-COLLECTIONS FINAL NOTICE. They did not even ask for my insurance information. After reading the reviews below, I almost feel like writing, "Ditto." AMR has had plenty of time to fix the billing problems and showing that they "value their customers," but they continue with substandard billing practices and over-priced ambulance services. Their service is absolutely terrible. The medic was suppose to do an IV on my son for his transport to a different hospital, the reason for the transport, the medic never did. They then sent my bill to collections eventhough I never received a bill, they were sending the bill to an old address, they obviously were too lazy to update their account info with my new address, their customer support is in a different country and they are absolutely worthless in helping you. Would never ever recommend using their service.
