On 01/01/2019, AMR was called to our residence because my son was choking. He was transported to the hospital. In September 2019, I received notice from American Medical Response that the insurance company indicated that my son did not have a policy with them. I called my insurance company. My son IS covered under my insurance. The representative informed me that they had requested ambulance trip notes from AMR but had never received them. I called AMR and went round and round with them, to no avail. I then called my insuran... read more

This past March, while setting up for a fundraiser at a local event hall, I fainted and hit the back of my head causing a minor cut. The event hall manager called 911 and AMR was dispatched. By the time AMR arrived I was awake, alert, oriented and in no distress. This is supported by the Patient Care Report completed by the Paramedic. Although in no obvious danger I was strongly encouraged by the Paramedics to go with them to the hospital...just in case. Cost was not discussed but the refrain "that is why you have insurance"... read more

Billed $2180. for 500 ft across hospital parking lot. A nurse could not find wheel chair and called for ambulance to transport me across the hospital parking lot. I did not authorize. ***** saying out of contract. AMR call center in the Philippines, I cannot understand them, they cannot understand me. Now ruining my credit. Lawsuit? YES.
Business response:
AMR transported the patient for continued care at the request of the attending physician. Appropriate EMS protocols were followed based on her condition at the time of transport. Our rates are competitive for the consumer’s community and meet all applicable local, state and federal limitations. The consumer’s insurance carrier issued payment based on non-contractual benefits, and the patient’s responsibility portion was billed. The account defaulted to an outside agency as there was no further payment or communication. At th... read more
This company transported my mother from a local hospital to a rehab center 8.6 miles away in mid-August of 2019, I received a bill from them that charged me for an 11-mile trip. The company also stated on the bill that if I paid immediately that I could take advantage of a 15% discount, and that I should just deduct 15% from the amount I remitted. I wrote them a letter stating that I was perturbed that they seemed to have padded the trip, BUT I remitted payment for the full eleven miles minus the 15%, and I did so IMMEDIATEL... read more

I sent them full payment for my bills twice and they’re still threatening collections. Third time’s the charm?

This is highly unethical company. I have full insurance with Aetna and even though I called AMR and told them that my insurance company had processed the claim and that payment was being sent to AMR, AMR sent my bill to collections. In less than 2 months. Insurance companies NEVER process the claim immediately. AMR placed the claim, for collection, and dinged my credit report. I am also going to report this to the Nevada attorney general as an attempt by a medical provider to overbill.

Our 19 year old daughter became ill and called ***. AMR took her 5 miles to the nearest Hospital. We then received a Bill for $2,600 of which our insurance would only pay $336.00. I went through the appeal process with *****and it was denied! In the meantime, AMR sent this overpriced bill to collections to try to destroy our credit!! Shame on them! This is robbery!! They are unwilling to negotiate contracts with insurance or provide a patient discount. Now, when our loved ones need an ambulance we are left to wonder if they ... read more
