For a trip in November 2015, I received no bill or communication until August 2016! By the, it was too late to dispute the bill with my insurance. When I contacted my insurance, they told me they had made payment to AMR in early Jan 2016, so then why did no one reach out to me with the bill till August??? I have spoken to all supervisors in their call center and tons of agents over the last 8 months. We have previously communicated a partial payment was received from a non-contracted insurance carrier. Therefore, the patient is responsible for any unpaid balance. A compassionate care application was received, but based on the information provided was denied. At this time, we will be contacting you directly to provide payment options.
On 03-11-17 My wife called an ambulance for me as I had a severe dog bite on my lower leg. ONE ambulance was sent to our house for me. While loading me the attendants notice a scratch on the back of one of my son's hands and asked him if he needed an ambulance also. He TOLD them no it was only a scratch. They loaded me and took me to the Hospital. We were fine with ONE bill for my service BUT, they sent a additional bill to my son for $282.20 and marked it as PATIENT REFUSAL for service. I received service from AMR on 12/14/16. Received a bill less than 2 weeks later. Called on 12/31/16 to pay over the phone only to learn the bill did not reflect my insurance paying their portion. I offered to pay in full despite that & asked if I would receive a credit once they received the insurance company portion. They said yes & to expect that within 30-45 days. I also asked that a receipt of my payment be emailed to me. I was told they couldn't email (who can't email a receipt in these times??!) & to expect it within ... read more
