I was admitted on Janurary 1st, 2018 with an abscess. Granted I had one back in November which came back in the same spot 5 days ago. All went well, the staff was amazing and kind. Went out of their way to help me. The only true complaint I have is while I was in surgery, I had $150 stolen from my wallet. Their answer was nothing we can do because none of your belongings were documented when I was admitted. Like really Altru!! Words aren't enough to express gratitude to my OB and all the Altru NICU nurses and doctors who took care of my son and I during one of the most terrifying moments of my life. He had to be born via emergency c section at 34+5 due to severe pre eclampsia and very low amniotic fluid. He spent 2 weeks in the nicu. The nurses and doctors who took care of him and my doctor are some of the best. Thank you!
Double billing for urgent care visit?! I thought maybe I was misunderstanding the bill but after talking to Altru and my insurance company, I was in fact billed twice. Unfortunately, due to a loophole, it appears Altru can do that. Very unethical�!
This review has been a long time coming. Last year my father was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. That is a diagnosis no one ever wants to hear. And as devastating as this diagnosis was, imagine our horror when we found out he went in to his appointment after getting this news and was asking about treatment options and was told in a cold, callous way that it does not matter what kind of treatments are out there because there was not much they could do because he would be dead in a couple of months anyway. Post-op care...85 year old dad...quite hearing impaired...full knee replacement. Friday, day one: fine (half day) Saturday, day two: fine Sunday, day three: A clear and confirmed understanding that he *might* get to go home Monday, but staying for observation until then because of some pain (and medication) that morning. **2:00 Shift Change** new doctor and nurse skim medical file, say a couple nothings and vanish after maybe 10 minutes. 5:00 nurse comes in with dinner and announces he's being discharged. I had the best experience there today. I went into the ER with an allergic reaction and was tended to immediately. My nurses were excellent and very good at communicating what was going on! If you ever get Deb or Laura in the ER you are lucky!!! My Dr. was also immediately in the room and checked in multiple times over the next few hours. He took the time to explain everything to me and made sure I didn't have any further questions before discharging me. Dr. Weirser in the ER is a lifesaver!
