Great little salon! – I've been going to Alice Hair for a couple of years now and have ALWAYS left happy. I use Vicky for my cut & color and she's amazing. Very attentive, always listens to what I want, and always has great suggestions. It's definitely NOT cheap, but it is the Upper East Side, so I guess it the prices could be much worse! They're all friendly, not pretentious, it's a comfortable place to be! The only complaint I would have is sometimes the shampoo assistants aren't the best. Overall a wonderful salon – Having recently moved to NYC, I tried Alice's on a recommendation from a colleague, and after reading numerous great reviews on the web. Hazel gave me the best haircut! She spent a lot of time asking questions about my hair and what I wanted, and made sure that we had the same idea about the hairstyle I asked for. Bumble and Bumble products plus great stylist!!!! – Just went to the salon for the first time yesterday. Collette did my hair and did a wonderful job. I came in wit a haircut that i was very unhappy with. She worked with me and listened to me. She gave me a new haircut that I love and also put in some wonderful highlights that emphasizes the haircut and actuallly makes my hair look fuller. The salon was so cute and everyone was so nice. Such a fun salon! – I am so happy to have found such a great salon. I live in Brooklyn and work downtown. I was uptown visiting a friend when I came across Alice Hair. Orginally not from New York, I have been in search of a good colorist for a long time and was suprised to find one on the Upper East Side. When I hear uptown I think snobby, expensive, uptight, but Alice Hair is the opposite. Good for highlights; good customer service – This was the third salon I've tried since I moved to NYC. The first two didn't work out so well. I went to Alice's for a highlight to cover up my roots and to lighten/liven up my naturally dirty blonde haircolor. After I first saw the finished job, i wasn't sure that I liked it and thought it might be too light. Definitely Recommended! – This salon is totally a breath of fresh air in NYC! Service is friendly and accomodating, and all of the stylists and staff are genuinely helpful and enthusiastic about what they do. Alice hair overated! – This tiny shop on second avenue is totally overated.I have been there more than a few times and it seems always busy.The girls are all Irish and can be charming but what we want is consistant cuts,a simple hello and acknowledgement from Alice as we are spending $$$ at Her establishment out of a plethora of salons in NYC.The shop is small,ecclectic and could be cleaner with all the help they have.Inexperienced girls doing the coloring while the "stylists" busily take all walk in hair cuts. Customer service is top priority! – After researching salons for over a year I finally found Alice's. I was very careful about where I wanted to have my hair done since I was going for a major change: from shoulder-length hair to a short cut with highlights.
