Just a short drive from the hustle and bustle of downtown Atlanta, this hidden treasure provides a great escape for those who just want to relax and eat southwestern food. Enjoy the patio, with a drink or two if you wish. The cooking is eclectic and fresh here, from the spectacular seafood (try the stuffed trout tomatillo) to the shredded port tostadas. Open seven nights, Agave Restaurant attracts plenty of locals and guests from the big city.

Unassuming Elegance - This is the BEST place ever! – This lovely little restaurant has world-class cuisine at unmatched prices. The spices are layered with expert precision (though if you desire more heat, you have only to ask). The food is the freshest you will find anywhere. The tequila bar boasts an extensive and exceptional selection (with bartenders who know their products well). My favorites are the spicy tequila shrimp and the chile seared halibut, though everything I've tried has been delicious. I haven't tried the v... read more
Very disappointing – After reading lots of wonderful reviews, I expected a great meal at Agave with lots of spice and flavor; I received neither. I ordered the tomato, avocado, and basil salad, and the "spicy ranch drizzle" tasted like watered down Hidden Valley ranch. The citrus vinaigrette was pretty flavorless. I expected more than 4 thin slices of avocado, too. For my entree, I ordered the appetizer portion of the Guajillo mussels, which were supposed to come in a "signature red chile citrus wine broth with fresh basil..... read more
Awesome place for dinner – Great southwestern menu. Food is always consistent, they cook everything fresh and from scratch and the value is great. My wife and I come here 3-4 times a month for dinner (so we've been there at least 30 times) and have yet to be disappointed. We even bring our family and friends here when they come in from out of town. You know how sometimes you rave about a restaurant and then bring someone there and it's terrible? That has never happened to us at Agave. I highly recommend this place. For an ev... read more
Southwestern Heaven! – Definitely my favorite restaurant in Atlanta! The food is consistently excellent, the cocktails are the best in the city, and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. And if you like tequila, they have over 100 varieties on hand! Agave also has amazing specials all the time, so check out their website to get in on some good deals. My personal favorite deal is their 2 for 1 apps from 5-7pm every night at the bar. Can't beat that!
One of my favorite Atlanta restaurants – I have loved Agave for years. My fiance and I went on our first date here and keep going back for more. The food and margaritas are delicious. The atmosphere is romantic and fun. The food is very consistent, I have only had one meal here that I wasn't completely thrilled with in the 10+ times I have visited. That's not too shabby! Make sure you get a Peachtree Margarita. The short rib is delicious and that flourless chocolate torte is definitely worth it.
Great Southwest Experience – The best southwestern experience in Atlanta/southeast.... not sure which was better food or service....if Agave was closer it would be a weekly stop.......you won't find a better selection of tequilla's and no one compete's with the margarita's......if you have not been it's your loss... truly one of Atlanta's best.
First & Last visit to Agave. Not worth the Money or Time! – In most cases, a Good or Poor review usually starts with the meal. However, from the moment my party entered Agave for dinner this past Friday night, the Host left a very bad taste on the pallet. We had reservations for 8:30pm, we arrived at 8:20. The Host greeted us, confirmed our reservation and asked us to wait. This was expected and acceptable. However, after several other parties arrived after us, a small crowd gathered at the entrance. Within minutes, the Host... read more
Southwestern Food with Flair – Yum Yum Yummy I got Agave food in my tummy. Agave is alright with me....a fresh, fun, upscale southwestern menu, if you go in the Winter be sure to sit by the warm and cozy fireplace, it's a sure winner. My favorite dish, Pan Seared Chilean Salmon over a roasted red pepper sauce...to die for! The wait staff is very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. One of Atlanta's finest Southwestern restaurants. • Pros: Best Service, Attentive Staff • Overall user rating: Recommended
great atmosphere... – once again... and as always, had a great overall experience at agave. being walk ins, decided to grab a spot at the bar with a friend and were promptly taken care of by the bartender. she had some great advice on tequilas i hadn't tried before and on the specials of the evening. the food and drink were wonderful as usual. i'll be going back and look forward to grabbing a spot at the bar once again. see ya next time, thanks.
