Just a short drive from the hustle and bustle of downtown Atlanta, this hidden treasure provides a great escape for those who just want to relax and eat southwestern food. Enjoy the patio, with a drink or two if you wish. The cooking is eclectic and fresh here, from the spectacular seafood (try the stuffed trout tomatillo) to the shredded port tostadas. Open seven nights, Agave Restaurant attracts plenty of locals and guests from the big city.

LOUD!!!! – I went to a wine dinner here a few months ago with a group of about 8 people. The manager was very nice and went out of his way to make sure everyone was taken care of. The food was good but, overall, the experience dining her was not pleasant due the incredibly high decibel level. It was virtually impossible to converse with people across the table or even sitting right next to you! (The place has very high ceilings and concrete floors.) I will not go back there for that reason alone
Outstanding! – This is my favorite place in Atlanta. The food is always fresh, flavorful and perfectly prepared. The servers are friendly and helpful and they coordinate closely with the chef to make sure that everything is perfect (the servers will even provide suggestions for the best drinks). Every meal I've had here has been wonderful. Agave is a great place for dining alone, bringing a date or sharing a perfect meal with friends and family (hint - make reservations if you're bringing a crowd). Go to Agave and have a won... read more
Best Southwestern Cuisine in town – I've been going to Agave for going on 7 yrs. It's my fav place to go whether it's by myself (often) or on a date. The staff is always very knowledeable whether it's about the 100 different kinds of Tequila or their wide assortment of wines. The restaurant uses the highest quality no hormone beef and chicken! No wonder it tastes sooo yummy. And from what I know they don't use microwaves or freezers. Everything is fresh.. Do yourself a favor and go. Atlanta is lucky!
A long time favorite – I've been going here for a couple of years and so far I've always really enjoyed it. This restaurant has a menu to suit a wide range of palettes and it's basically a short drive from about anywhere downtown so it's been a good spot to meet up with friends. My favorite appetizers are the ceviche martini and the chicken quesadilla, both of which are big enough to be a meal! I am also a huge fan of their fried chicken and the salmon filet. Another recent review talked about smelling cigarette smoke which ... read more
Smoking, Really? – Food is delightful and the service is friendly and tip-top. That's the good. I came in on a friday night and was kindly greeted and sat quickly at a nice table (so I thought) upstairs. While I was eating, I saw the host go into what I think was the office and soon after I distinctly smelled heavy cigarette smoke coming from that door. Then he left to go back to the front door. It took a while for the smoke to subside, but my meal was already disturbed. Then the chef went in the same room upstairs and again... read more
best food, best chef, best service! – this is the absolute best place for escaping the banality of the dreary world. the atmosphere is laid back, comfortable and welcoming. the staff are genuinely sweet, attentive and they strive to ensure you have a wonderful experience. i'm addicted to the white bean soup...it's "to die for" yummy. all the food is fresh and prepared perfectly. i've never been disappointed. and, the servings are large (for me) so i always have left-overs for the next day. i've had left-over scallops and enc... read more
Still one of Atlanta's best restaurants – I've been dining at Agave for 8 years, and it has consistently proven itself as one of my favorite places to eat anywhere. The food quality is outstanding and the service is always friendly and attentive. The ambiance adds to the enjoyment of the meal; the dark tones and southwestern artifacts adorning the walls complement the fireplace nicely in the second dining room. The main dining room and bar area is always full of energy and lively with a small loft area above the dining area ... read more
Atlanta's Best – I LOVE this place! The bar is beautiful, the staff is helpful and knowledgeable, the chef is brilliant and his creations are delicious! For me, the best part of this time of year (when the weather cools down) is being able to indulge in the white bean soup with Navajo fry bread sticks (so yummy~) with a wonderful Corzo Perfecto margarita. Okay - I know where I'm going for dinner tonight!
My experiences at this restaurant have always been outstanding. I am consistently impressed by the food and the service. This is one of those rare places in which you feel the staff truly cares and will go out of their way to ensure that you have a wonderful night. It is a lost art in today's world and I'm truly grateful for their dedication and professionalism. Every item I've had has been flavorful, fresh and completely satisfying (note - the portions are rather large so I always get dessert "to go" to enjoy later at home)... read more
