Don't go to Afro Queen. There's so many other hair stores to choose from in Peckham. The ones closer to the station have a better range. Afro Queen do not want customers. I went in on Sunday, my friend was buying something small so I let him carry on while I looked at the hair oils. I noticed hostile eyes and footsteps slowly padding to where I was. They have an excellent range of products, unfortunately when you browse independently and tell them you don’t need any help, they are very persistent with it which makes me feel uncomfortable, it’s as if they don’t trust me to browse the items alone because I’m perceived as ‘suspicious’

bought something that cost £1 and tap my card and they mistakenly put the wrong price on the card machine and took £27 out and was moving very unprofessional as i asked politely for cash back.

I’ve been to this shop before and never had any issues. But when I went again today to look for hair extensions, something really upsetting happened. I was at the back of the store trying to find a colour that matched my hair, when one of the staff members approached me and asked if I’d found the colour I was looking for. I told him I was just browsing for now. Right after that, I saw him look up at the surveillance camera and give a thumbs up — and that completely threw me off.
