My Sunday Hideaway – I just moved to the Union Square area recently and found Acqua Beauty bar waling by one Sunday. Since them is place has been my retreat. I've recieved great manicures and pedicures and the best facials (Sonya Dakar Facial). After three hours of this place I feel refreshed and ready to take on the next week.

good but not great – I have only gotten manicures and pedicures here, which I think are just a bit above average. While it is a nice soothing space, I often feel as if they are rushing me out the door.

Great facial! – I had their basic facial which I thought was great. although my friend wasn't as thrilled. They use great products and I left with my skin feeling really clean. The ambiance leaves something to be sedired though -- looks alot like an upscale nail place when you walk in.

no big deal – I truly don't understand the fascination with this place. The manicure was decent, but very overpriced and no better than what you can get at any cheap nail salon for half the price. I paid $50 for an "orchid pedicure" which was one of the biggest disappointments I have ever had. For $50 you should feel pampered and as though you are getting something special. There was nothing special (or "orchid") about this pedicure.

not too shabby – I went for one of the "journey" packages...a gift from my boyfriend. One complaint I have is that my package was a little shorter than the brochure promised, but the scrub at the end was lovely. I'd give it another shot.

Loyal to Acqua – I've had practically every treatment here from massages, facials, manicure, pedicure and waxing and they've all been great. Life has been a lot easier for me since they opened since I don't have to schelp uptown. If your not happy with a service voice it. Last month when I received a massage that was not to my usual standard here they gave me a complimentary one for the future. Now they definately have my loyalty.

blah! – i went the first time based on citysearch's reviews and out of convenience (proximity), but definitely not worth any kind of extra energy. the atmosphere is great- very clean. but i was totally disappointed by a number of visits. pedicures don't last, service is nothing special; runs from typical elitist to the occasional young smiley one, but as titled: blah, blah, blah. there must be a light-filled spa that can offer more than acqua.

Great facial – For anyone with light skin problems, the Sonia Dakar facial does the job. The esthecian I had was very thorough. She told me everything that was wrong with my skin, and very nice about it. I agree that upon first impressions, the front area isn't the most serene or very chic...like you would expect from a Haven or Helena R... but the rooms themselves are spacious and there's no snobby attitude if you worry about that. I went there for a good facial and got one! Great massage too.

Cold – After reading various reviews online for this spa, all being good reviews, I honestly feel jipped. I had to wait aroung for 30 minutes before my spa package started and I was the only one there. I froze my but off the enitre time and felt very exposed. Most people who arrived after me, were there to get nail services, I am the other hand was the only one getting massaged, wrapped and scrubbed and pedicured. The pedicure sucked. The woman almost burnt my feet off and she did not do the pedicure I paid for.
