What going on? – How can a place with more than half the critiques being negative still earn a rating this high? I've gone quite a few times...The staff is rude, I've met the owner more than once and she's less than useful, the service is inconsistent, and for the price, improve your home lighting and buy yourself flowers and a bottle of nail polish. Give your money to people that spread the joy that is a great spa experience--not these queens.
Waxing Eloquently on the (lame) Wax Work – The waxing staff need tips on giving a good thorough wax. 1. check the waxed area in a lighted, magnifying mirror. 2. Go over the area more than once. 3. Ice cubes really do help afterwards, not lotion. 4. Have good lighting so the customer can see the area themselves. Excellent spa experience – I enjoyed the Botanical Purifying Facial and a Brown Sugar Glo scrub at Acqua Beauty Bar. The facial was one of the best I've ever had - my skin was soft and glowing, my enlarged pores were cleaned of gunk, and even the flaming red pimple on my chin was noticeably smaller after the facial. The body scrub was good but a bit overpriced for what I got. not that impressed – A friend and I went in for a "journey" and neither of us were particularly impressed with anything but the body wrap. There was no lunch. We were not offered a choice in the treatments. while a few of the aestheticians were sweet, some of them were downright rude and none of them told us their names, (which made figuring out the tip envelopes a little awkward. Spa Day – I went to Acqua Beauty Bar with my mother in late January looking to treat myself for my birthday and primarily to de-stress my mother who is about to become a grandmother. We were there to get the works, a facial, massage, and a body wrap, it was called the "Journey". We were supposed to get to choose which massages and scrubs we got, they never asked, they just gave them to us, which wasnt so bad because the actual treatments were wonderful. Only for the extremely patient – This is the worse scheduling system I've ever seen! I arrived at Acqua only to be told that after planning a small birthday celebration for a friend that none of our treatments would be done together. Not only that they refused delivery on our party snacks telling the caterer that we don't know who these people are. Once our food finally returned, no one in my party was notified. EXCELLENT! – Excellent experience, don't know what the others are talking about. Went for brazilian, eyebrow, mani and pedi and all were great. Customer service was excellent! Everyone was friendly and helpful, no attitude whatsoever. Waxing was superb, don't know what the others are talking about. Definitely was a bit pricey though.
Worst Wax Ever – I went to Acqua Beauty Bar for waxing. I hadn't been to the spa in a while and I got a 15-minute lecture from the woman doing the wax about how men don't like hair, and how I probably don't have a boyfriend (which I do). What the hell? It was rude, awkward, and inappropriate. My advice to ABB: less inappropriate talking, more waxing! Lack of good customer relations/ good customer service will eventually bring you down.
good quality, bad customer service – i got a great manicure, pedicure and eyebrow was here one weekend, but the surly, apathethic and completely unhelpful checkout girl really killed my buzz.
