Worth every penny - and more Even if you are not specially interested in fish and ocean life, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is worth a visit. The variety ans speciality of the displays are fantastic, especially the exibition of jelly fish is out of this world. The explanatory signs are written in an understandable way, and the hands on exibit is interesting, informative and fun for adults too
so much aquarium, so little time This is an excellenent aquarium in a really fun part of town. Though the fee to get in the aquarium is a little steep, once you get in you can see that they put all that money to good use. There are presentations and animal feedings all through out the day. Great Day Out This is the best aquarium I've ever been to. It's worth becoming a member (pays for itself pretty quickly). You really feel like you're diving with the sharks - it's amazing. Time your visit so you get to see feeding time for the sea otters. It's even fun for the little kids, there's a touch pool for them to play in.
A must-see! The Monterey Bay Aquarium is the best aquarium I've been to. It is a must for us to visit every time we are visiting Monterey. It is worth the admission price because the exhibits are so incredible and well-presented. It does get VERY crowded, so try to get there right when it opens. They are constantly redoing and upgrading their exhibits. The sea otters are a favorite to watch, especially around feeding time (get there early to find a spot to watch). Good but Expensive It's a nice aquarium with unique exhibits, but it's not much in the way of what you'd usually expect from an aquarium. There aren't many sharks and it's just not very big. It's a unique experience but if you've gone to other good aquariums you could probably just skip this one and spend more time at the local beaches and parks.
My Favorite Aquarium I have been to many aquariums, but my favorite thus far has been the Monterey Bay Aquarium. They have plenty of interesting exhibits to see, with huge walls of fish everywhere. They have a great jellyfish exhibit as well as a variety of strange fish. They used to have a great white shark exhibit, which I sadly missed. The aquarium is located in a cute little area with shops and seafood restaurants, making this stop a nice day trip.
Like Nothing You've Ever Experienced Before! Enter a whole new world. Pet sting rays and see the place where a great white actually survived for 6 1/2 months in captivity for the first time ever before being re released! Visit the Splash Zone and check out the penguins! Watch fish swimming in circles over your head. Touch animals you never thought existed! Get closer to the ocean.
beautiful fishies. the fishes here are beautiful. something like you've never ever seen before. it's like you're living in the sea with the darn things! looks very realistic and it looks like a great environment for them. the workers are nice. what's best is that there is a nearby beach that is beautiful and the water is so clear!
beautiful. this place truly amazes me. it's so beautiful and makes you feel like you're in another place. the aquarium is GIGANTIC. you can feel the glass and it feels like you're in the sea with them. it was a great experience here and i'm for sure coming back! pricey tickets though!
