A must-see! The Monterey Bay Aquarium is renowned as one of the premier aquariums of the world and when you visit, its apparent why this is so. Whenever I visit, again and again I am awestruck by some of the displays. My favorites are the multi-story kelp forest and outer bay displays. Definitely not to be missed!
Incredible aquarium Monterey bay Aquarium is a wonderful place to take the entire family. Everyone loves to watch the sea otters frolicking in teh huge two story tank. The kelp tank is an amazing tank to see the sea life of the Monterey Bay. An added benefit..schools are able to take field trips. The High School field trip was a behind the scenes interactive tour where they actually learned about the sea life.
Great Aquarium Monterey Bay Aquarium is in a very cute section of Monterey right by shopping and restaurants. The aquarium itself is pretty nice and seems to be pretty new. They have a lot of exhibits and even shows. It's perfect for children! I did think it would be a lot bigger, but that could have been just my expectations. I really loved it there though and so did my husband.
Monterey Bay Aquarium One of the few working research centers that doubles as a world-class tourist attraction. It's like walking into a 3-D version of your favorite nature show. Walk among ocean birds, find treasures in an indoor tide pool, stroll under a crashing wave or through a kelp forest. See life through a sea otter's eyes. A magical place to spend a day. Great even for toddlers.
Take the kids or just yourselves! My husband and I love to visit the Aquarium. They always have wonderful exhibits to enhance learning experiences for all ages. They had a special shark exhibit the last time we went, complete with a 3-D underwater/shark movie.
Great ocean gifts The gift store has so many unique gift items that will bring back memories of the beautiful Monterey Bay. Blown glass, fired ceramics and carved wood items are showcased here
Great Educational Programs Monterey Bay Aquarium has some of the best educational opportunities in the world for both students and teachers. Their kelp forest exhibit is truly amazing. The MBA also hosts special events, including an elegant New Year's celebration.
Best in Northern California The Monterey Bay Aquarium is definitely the best aquarium in Northern California. There are a lot of exhibits to see and huge tanks of so many sea creatures. They also have a lot of touch tanks where you can actually touch sting rays. The 2nd floor has touch tanks for kelp, kermit crabs, starfish and other smaller sea creatures. They also have this small area with an exhibit of the bird life by the bay that has live birds and ducks.
Don't miss this! We love the aquarium so much that I've bought a 4 year family pass. The aquarium is really top notch. I bring all of our out-of-town guests here, and my kids always enjoy spending a morning here.
