About this business

Our restaurant shares a name with the highway that runs from Naples to Canosa, Puglia. True to our namesake, we gather our inspiration from southern Italy, particularly Campania, the region surrounding Naples. Chef David Taylor oversees the menu, which features fresh pasta, house-butchered and house-cured meats and authentic Neapolitan pizza. Complementing the rustic menu, Wine Director/owner Shelley Lindgren selects wines that highlight the indigenous grapes from Campania and nearby regions. Since we opened A16 in February,... read more

Got a Reservation? Be Ready to Wait! – WOW, my fiance and I have been there half a dozen times and have only sat inside the restaurant twice (this last visit we did). I can tell you that if you sit at the bar its great. The bartenders are great (Brooke was very helpful in selecting wines by the glass) and the food is the same. BUT PLEASE BE READY TO WAIT TO SIT AT YOUR TABLE REGARLESS OF YOUR RESERVATION!! WE WAITED AN HOUR! Yes, a full hour! A glass of Prosecco does not make up for it. I will think twice when bringing frien... read more

Average is the perfect word to describe this place. I've been hearing about their pizza forever--and let me tell you it's not all that great. Our appetizers were bland and the meal was overpriced. Great wine selection though and the waitress was attentive. On top of everything else, the restaurant is deafening.

Our party of four made reservations on a Sunday night at 8:30pm and didn't get seated until after 9:30pm without any apology or any effort to make our evening right. The pizzas were soggy, the zuppa was excellent, salmon was marginal. We talked to another party of four that same evening that also had reservations at 8:30 and didn't get seated until after us. Why make reservations I ask, the place wasn't even very good.

casual & trendy – Its casual and bustling, its not cutting edge, just a fun place to go and eat without going out on the town, I enjoy the wine selections, even though the prices are a bit higher than previously, but you have a lot to choose from compared to other restaurants, I like a large selection, at a reasonable price to go with a casual but inventive meal.

Took a nosedive – I've been to A16 4 or 5 x and it has always been pretty good, not great, but decent. Now it is really not so good. It's definitely gone downhill since opening. The pizzas aren't nearly as good as they used to be and the menu needs a glossary to be able to understand what the food is.

Do not waste your time or money! – My boyfriend took me there last night for my bday. He made reservations 3weeks ago, yet they seated us 55 mins after our reservation time of 8pm. The mozzarrella appetizer had no taste. Which turned out to be a blessing compared to the recommended pasta which had a salty flavor, making it impossible to finish. We tried the pork that everyone has raved about. It was good, but not worth the endless praise. The chocolate dessert tasted stale to me but the anaise sauce was very good. After wait... read more

All U people are nuts! – My wife and I had wonderful time at A16 last night. I couldn't believe the nasty things some people said. We came in on their Christmas Party evening of all nights and we were the last couple in the restaurant and we would have never known it. The meal began with a beautiful bottle of wine selected by a very knowledgeable sommelier. The list was reasonable for the city. We had a perfect amount of time inbetween courses as the service was impeccable. The food was amazing, we had a fennel salami (cured... read more

Wine was very good – The best part of the meal was the wine. Ther service was above par as well. Unfortuatly when my soup came it was scalding and I burnt my tounge. Which could been a blessing. For when the pizza came it was a sogging mess that actually feel apart it was so mushy. Not worht the hype.

Believe the hype – If you expect Cal Italian fusion or Italian American food, you will be disappointed. The food at A16 is simple, rustic, and regionally authentic. Some dishes are truly incredible such as the cuddle fish salad with pureed potatoes. (Note the poster who claimed it was a fish salad...if you can't tell between cuddle fish and fish, maybe you should not be writing reviews...). The gnocchi with porcini, the romana pizza, braised short ribs, and side of beans were also delicious. Waiter was brisk but curteous and... read more
