Saw this place on Diner, Drive in, and dives and came to Nashville on vacation and went on a search to find it. Franklin is a super cute town. I gave 55 South 3 stars because our entrees were just okay. Service is excellent, white sangria was very good, and the oysters with butter lemon and parmigiana cheese we're OUTSTANDING!!!!! We joked about just ordering several orders of oysters instead of lunch and in the end wish we had done just that. Amazing service! Amazing food! Service was impeccable. Highly recommend. I've been to restaurants that I have paid three times as much as the food not be near as good. Laid back atmosphere with great price points!
Love the char grilled oysters, po-boy,sea food gumbo.
Shrimp and grits were great. Also was able to snag a bite of the mahi mahi Reuben - also delicious (came with house made potato chips). Nice beer selection and our oysters on the half shell were tasty! Good service.
