The "13 Coins" name is of Peruvian origin. The story goes that a poor young man loved and wished to marry a wealthy girl. Her father asked what he had to offer for his daughter's hand in marriage. The young man reached into his pocket. He had only 13 coins, but assured the father he could pledge undying love, care and concern. The father was so touched, he gave his daughter's hand and "13 Coins" has come to symbolize unyielding love, care and concern.

I enjoyed our visit to this restaurant, mainly due to the people we were with, and the fact that we sat in the bar at 10 am, so it felt as if we were one of the only large groups there. My food was delicious, and our servers were very friendly, and right on top of refilling our coffee and waters, etc. .... HOWEVER.... I was the last one to get my food...and IN FACT ... I was told by our server that the kitchen DROPPED THE BALL! They FORGOT my order!! I didn't get my food until some of the others at our table were almost done... read more
I love � 13 Coins. In Sept, I took my granddaughter there for breakfast and then school shopping. She loves it and we've been back since then. Also, in Oct. I had friends in from TX and took them there as well because it's one of the better unique experiences in WA. I love that 13 Coins is open 24/7 & you can get a damn good meal at any hour. You definitely get your money's worth. �

I have been going to the 13 coins for over 30 years, as one of my very favorite restaurants. I realize you pay a certain price for the experience, which I have no problem with. My dear friend who I have been going there for over 30 years with was with me to celebrate her new job, (which would be a relocation to Calif.), as well as her birthday.
