About this business

The "13 Coins" name is of Peruvian origin. The story goes that a poor young man loved and wished to marry a wealthy girl. Her father asked what he had to offer for his daughter's hand in marriage. The young man reached into his pocket. He had only 13 coins, but assured the father he could pledge undying love, care and concern. The father was so touched, he gave his daughter's hand and "13 Coins" has come to symbolize unyielding love, care and concern.

loooooonnnnnngggg Wait!!! – Came in on a Saturday at 6:30 pm...realized that the wait would be long so we took the bar option (full service menu). We waited over an hour and 15 minutes for our meals to arrive! And when they did....one was totally wrong! When we asked to have it fixed, the server said she would and did....the same time we got the check we got my guest's corrected meal request!!! No apology, nothing taken off the bill....not going to be back!!!

Expensive Garbage – We arrived at 11pm on a Tuesday night (2 of us) and had to wait 15 minutes before we got seated. We found this quit unusual considering we saw several booths open and plenty of counter space. After the wait we where to our amazement, seated at the counter instead of the booth we requested. Asking about this we where told that the booths that where available where for 4 people only. (we where the only ones waiting) After being placed at the counter we noticed the cooks where very dirty, in fact the entire ... read more

best 24 hour restaurant – If you want cheap, greasy and fast...go to Dicks, BurgerKing or McDonalds. 13 Coins is well worth the money at 2am or later/earlier. Expect to be treated as you are. If you are loud, drunk, obnoxios, expect to be treated with a long wait, slow service or maybe never seated, in hopes you will leave. On the other hand, if you appreciate good food, are willing to let the chef have the time to prepare your food, and know that dining costs more than Dicks, you will be in for a treat.

Best Crab Fettucini EVER – I so much enjoyed sitting at the "bar" and watching the chefs prepare my meal. The crab was excellent and highly recommended. A little expensive, but very taste satifying. Parking...Hmmm???

Bad service – This place is not a place to take a date. They are open 24 hours but don't go in there just for coffee. They have a minumium order of $20.00 they can be expensive.

The King of latenight dining – Let me say that again. 13 Coins is the King of late night dining! 24/7 this restaurant offers so much more than the average. The staff puts on a great performance and treats guests very well. It really doesn't matter what your in the mood for because the menu covers so many tastes. This is a fun place to meet with friends after bar hopping and clubbing. The atmosphere doesn't put you to sleep and can be crouded. For couples, Irecommend seating at the bar, where you may even feel like your Royal... read more

Relaxing atmosphere, perfect for nightowls – Don't take some of the "too expensive" reviews too seriously. Yes, if you decide to go to 13 coins, expect to spend a bill. One of the posters (cindylou, I believe,) complained about the $6.50 minimum and $2.50 split plate charge and the fact that they discourage people from filling up on free bread as a way to save money. They are well within their right to discriminate, they are running a fine dining 24 hour restaurant, it is understood that you are coming there to "dine" not to... read more

Seattle/Boren location is the Seatac Airport location's evil twin – ATTENTION REVIEWERS: For the benefit of those who are reading these reviews, please be fair and list WHICH 13 Coins is being picked or panned. The 13 Coins in Seatac is by far superior to the downtown Seattle location. I have heard nothing but bad reviews about the downtown/Boren location but very good reviews of the Seatac location. I have been to the airport location in Seatac many times and have had good service and good food with reasonable consistency. ... read more

BAD BAD BAD – After reading mixed reviews, I decided i'd have to try it and find out for myself. NEVER AGAIN!! I have heard they are "pricey"...but I assumed (obviously a bad idea) that there would be some reasonably priced entrees (such as salads, sandwiches, and the like) for my college friends and I. Mistake. Not only are they vastly overpriced, but there's an minimum order amount for each person. AND...you can't be seated until your entire party arrives. AND...they charge you 2.50 for split entrees and orders to go. When... read more
