This low-key Rick Bayless eatery is inspired by Mexican street taco stands. Bayless serves up creative tortas, sandwiches, and a number of caldos (soups), sure to warm anyone up on a cold winter day. The pozole is a healthier take on the traditional dish. The pozole is made with chicken instead of pork, and though it is usually served on weekends at most Mexican eateries, here it's served here daily. The ever-popular tortas are placed on a crunchy French bread that, while not the typical bread used in this traditional sandwi... read more

It was wonderful. The entire staff are on point and helpful and took such good care of us. They make sure our food is hot including the items I ordered to go. Gosh, the food is so good. So Good!!
Captures the authentic taste of Mexican Food! I loved it! Great place to eat, friendly staff and fast service!
Good Mexican food! Everything we had was wonderful!
Rick, you have great place here!! I'm a great churro fan and your place here is in my top three!! Maria, is a spectacular hostess! And your staff really took care of us! Definitely coming back here the next time we are in Chicago.
We were looking for some good Mexican food. After a short search from google we decided on Xoco’s. We thought we were close enough to walk. Well 30 mins later we finally made it and boy it was definitely worth the walk the short rib tacos melt in your mouth and Milanese torta was to die for my fiancé ordered the Churro Sundae and OMG the bacon popcorn.. thank you so much for the wonderful food..
We enjoyed the Octopus Pibil Tlayuda, fresh ingredients combined with multiple layers of flavor made an excellent lunch.
I've never disliked a place so much while enjoying the food. It didn't help that my wife's food didn't come until we had to go back and ask for the charge to be removed. The music was too loud. Ordering at the counter is fine, but if you want another drink or desert, you have to get back in line and wait. You get sat at a table with other people which isn't ideal if you have kids in tow, or they do. We were hoping to go to Frontera, but the wait was too long. Really wanted to like the place, found Rick's restaurant to be lik... read more
I ate here in October 2018 with my Family (7 of us). We where half way done with our food when the restaurant manager came and asked us to leave since they had a large lunch party coming in for a business lunch. I was pretty shocked since I’ve never been asked to leave anywhere after paying for food. We spent about 30 minutes in the restaurant including the time we waited in line...... I wouldn’t recommend this place. I’ll stick to eating Mexican food on the West Coast.
Amazing atmosphere and food!! Highly recommend
