This email is describing a horrendous incident between myself, a Woodforest customer, and Mr. Damian ****** I arrived at about 3:00 pm at the Woodforest on Shiloh Glenn and Chapel Hill in Durham, NC, located inside of Walmart. Having worked at home for a half day, I plan to arrive before the bank closes just in case I need assistance. The bank closes at 4:00pm on Saturdays. I went to buy a $27 sewing from a retailer in the UK and this bank froze my bank card! I went to my local branch and they said they cannot allow me to use my own money to make purchases outside the US. They said all foreign sellers are fraudulent. How stupid can a bank be?

I have been with woodforest for over 3 years. During that time account was closed because of no activity for 30 day. I had 218 in there at the time. That was very frustrating. Had I known that I would have bought some gum. But woodforest quickly opened up another. But I had to change all my direct deposits. But I honestly must always get the nice one lol. And there loan department has always came to my rescue in emergency situations. When other banks said no woodforest said yes! I love them and thank God for there help. ??

I have never had more confidence in a bank as I have in Woodforest. Some of the staff that I have worked with have moved to other locations or other banks, but I still think Woodforest is a good community bank. Considering the issues facing any and all businesses due to COVID, I don't really feel the bank is to blame. I'm one willing to see this bank through - and they repeatedly show me they are there for me.

I'd hove negative 5 stars if possible. Most ridiculously stupid banking experience I've ever had. The app is horrible. Over $400 in fees in less than a month. Theres no fraud or unauthorized charge protection at all. They onky care about finding any way to charge you for absolutely any reason. Literally withdrew money one time from a different atm than the solitary single one that a customer can wd from that was inconveniently located...we paid $9 to take out $200 ONE TIME!!! F THIS BANK!!! DO NOT GO HERE

This is the worst bank! I deposited a check from my attorney and they put a seven day hold! It's a local bank account! They gave me theses bogus reasons. I need that money! All done with Woodforest bank!

hidden fees , and not one word about those fees when opening an account , fees in total of 25 dollars for closing my savings account before 180 days were up because they took out 3.00 dollars for a piece paper they sent me telling me i needed to sign up for emails only , which also cost another 3.00 because my account dropped below the 200.00 dollar minimum , this bank is using anyway they can to scam people with fees that keep stacking , and i was told when i opened the savings account there were NO HIDDEN FEES , that is si... read more

Posted my direct deposit Thursday afternoon. Made $191.26 in payments. Friday morning my pay isn't on the ledger, I'm in the negative $191.26. I call the bank and get a supervisor of who proceeds to tell me that she doesn't see the direct deposit and that the $191.26 was overdraft protection THAT I NEVER REQUESTED. Additionally, I don't use checks; only my debit card of which SHE advised does not have overdraft protection. Now. My account is in overdraft. I've had an acct with this bank for over 10 years and over the past year they have had horrible customer service. They have terribly long wait times when calling and even when sending an email to customer relations it takes them 48 hrs to respond. I'm so done with Woodforest National Bank.
