We stayed at Wood Hall for a week in June 2025 as part of our wedding celebrations. We booked it with a group of couples as a bit of a mini-moon!. I have to say the photos don't do it justice. The house is fantastic. The layout, the amenities, the thought that has been put into understanding what a large house full of guests require is impressive. Outstanding location, magnificent house and very well equipped. We had 12 adults, 5 grandsons and 4 dogs. The house coped admirably! Cockermouth is a great place...v close to lots of beautiful walks and locations.
Amazing place. Very impressive position overlooking woods and hills. Beautiful grounds. We booked it as the kitchen and living area are open plan so anyone cooking still felt part of the action. The kitchen was very well equipped. All the bedrooms were lovely. There is only one TV - a huge one in the games room. This worked well for us as we played games in the main lounge with no distractions. There is a gas BBQ which worked well and a huge stone table outside in full sun. Incredible house and grounds with one of the best views I've ever had the pleasure of. Bed was really comfy and shower brilliant in my room. The only downside was the tiny slow coffee machine for such a big house!
