Medical staff is fine. ER staff is hit or miss. I've had to come back twice within 24 hours on multiple occasions to get a proper diagnosis. Someone needs to do something about that operator up front though. If you ever call to get transferred to a specific clinic you'll usually get an annoyed, "uh. Ok". I'd rather her say nothing at all than hear the attitude in her tone. Little things.
Jen, one of the team RN's at the Family Medicine Residency Clinic, is wonderful! There was some confusion about some of the testing that I had done, and she reviewed my medical records, contacted radiology for me, talked with the providers, and spent two long phone calls with me sorting everything out and sharing her expertise. She provided me with her direct desk line to call for follow up in the future for not only me, but for my husband. Our son was born at 34 weeks and we were obviously unprepared to have a baby in the NICU. The incredible boarding program allowed me to stay close by so that I could be there for every feeding. I will be forever grateful to the amazing team of nurses that took care of our baby and loved him as if he was their own. My husband and I have had the best experience here. I gave birth at 34 wks and our son was premature. They also let us stay until our baby was ready to go home with us. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and taken care of. I honestly have no complaints. Each nurse we encountered gave us their full attention and updated us on our baby whenever they could. Also adding visits from the lactation consultants was a huge plus. We wouldn't have found a better hospital.
I was told that I needed to go to the Refill Pharmacy on Reilley Road and when I got there, I was told that my prescription was at the main pharmacy that I had just left. Wouldn't have been a big deal except that I am mobility disabled and the back and forth was hard on me physically.
Worst emergency I have ever been to. Waited 3 hours just to get info down than waited an extra hour with the iv needle in the arm in the waiting area.
My entire birthing experience at WAMC has been exceptional! My first was delivered at a well-renowned hospital in Raleigh and the staff at WAMC blew them out of the water. Shout out to everyone who helped bring my perfect little peanut into this world. High fives and hugs for the entire staff.
My wife had an MRI done, everything went good everything was on time the staff was very friendly and professional. The only thing was parking it was a little hectic, all and all everything was good
