I have used Whitmore's Timber over many years. Where I have found they excell is their oak. I recently needed a very long piece of structural oak. They were able to supply a piece longer than seven meters. It was planed and made ready for us to use so we had no awkward handling at the workshop. They also provide good quality air dired oak for making external joinery. Kiln dried oak is normally too dry for external work and paying extra for air dired is worth the premium.
