Retired 80% disabled veteran. Tried to call for eye exam. Not able to because not in the west Texas system even though previously seen at the VA center in Fayetteville Arkansas. I will have to miss a day of work in order to register......the bureaucracy never changes. Put lipstick on a pig, you still have a pig no matter how much you say it's improved. That's why I normally stay away from the VA centers.
I hate the Big Springs VA because THEY scheduled me an appointment with a private doctor at 1000 in Odessa KNOWING that this physician would need a copy of my medical records. I HAVE BEEN SITTING AT THE DOCTORS OFFICE FOR 2 HOURS AND STILL NO RECORDS, even AFTER they have been requested 3 times! And DON'T TRY TO CALL THEM because they will just give the run around and nobody knows anything. I love my mental health doctor, I love my hearing and vision doctor but the rest of the crew is a joke.

Only good for getting your prescriptions filled everything is a joke! If you depend on them for you health care you will die no ifs ands or butts about it! Trump has not fixed the VA!
The facility is not about healing, helping and accommodating the needs of those you service. Reevaluation of your purpose, needs to be implemented and focus needs to be placed back on the people you serve. Many feel they are an inconvenience, because their concerns are not addressed. I would much rather hear "I don't know, but let me get you too the correct person." Rather than "go over here" and when you get there, that person has no idea why you were sent too them. You have too be that chang.

Will not return phone calls in a timely manner, assign primary doctors who seems to not have even a minimal working knowledge of their job, and hard to understand language for clear communication; requested consult referrals go unheeded, and long wait times (needed a prosthetic leg since amputation on June 12, 2018). We are now at the door of bringing in a legal team on behalf of the veterans.
y all are a complete disgrace. can't even pickup the phone and call a veteran informing him that he needs drug screen and labs. has to wait until he calls the pharmacy 3 times to get any answers about stuff. mean while I habe to wait for drug screen results because the doctors and people that work there are to lazy to do their jobs. great job west texas Va for putting your veterans care last and leaving them in pain for 1-2 weeks if not longer.
