Well what can I say apart from it was such a great experience! Popped into the records office today 06/09/24 bang on 09.15 when it had just opened and the receptionists were amazing, bright eyed and bushy tailed, no I have just dragged myself out of bed and not ready for the world but big smiles and extremely helpful. My wife and I registered, got our cards and were then advised on how it would all work and directed in to another lady called Katie. Cannot praise the staff and centre highly enough. When you attend, you’ll find a really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful group of people. Everything is very well organised, and documents are produced quickly. What’s more, it’s a clean and airy environment to get your research done - hours can be lost here quite happily. A really fabulous bit of public service (and I don’t find myself saying that often, these days!). Here’s hoping the county continues to appreciate it and fund it as it deserves.

Just an amazing archive of local history. Very helpful and friendly staff. Very convenient parking at rear in a pay car park but which is free on Saturdays.
