The experience was all good until we got the order my partner ordered an sirloin steak and a server brought out a rump steak I said to them we didn’t order this, the server that took this order said “well you did” I definitely did not order a rump steak, why would I considering he hates that part of steak, considering it’s supposed to be customer is always right which I was, the whole staff were incredibly rude and gave our table the most dirty looks after that. A good large pub with decent food and drink options and outside seating. There's a Travelodge next door and McDonald's and Morrisons (with petrol) very close, so a really good area to stop on your way out West. As of October 2026 the map is showing this on the wrong side of the A303. Follow directions Travelodge Wincanton, to save getting lost.
Sadly this pub has lost its appeal and standard of food. Everything was overcooked dry and hard to eat We wont be returning
