Interesting place – I've lived in atlanta for many years and for some reason have never gotten here before this weekend. My wife and i went there to try the infamous burger. The atmosphere is interesting.. fits in with the rest of little five points. I had the burger and it was pretty good. My wife had a unique fried monte cristo that was ok. but overall it was pretty good. and will probably go back.
Whats all the hype about this joint? – Ok,I've been to this little joint twice and both times had aweful experiences with food and service!!first of all I don't know whats all the madness about their burgers ?lets just say the food is so below average!and don't even get me started about their lousy service and all the rudeness that go with it,in the idiot free world of Vortex being rude and mocking your customers for no apparent reason is so COOL!!
just moved to the atl and heard the vortex had the best burger in town. i have to admit it was a damn good burger. i had the black and spicy-very tasty-and my side salad was huge. the ambience was great and our server was awesome. as a former restaurant manager-i loved all the disclaimers on the front of the menu and the "no whining" attitude about the place.
great! – i had a buger and it was by far the best burger i have had in years! juicy and flavorful just like it should be! the bloody mary was pretty decent as well. had great service. would definitely go back!

The best hamburger EVER! – The blue shroom and a beer are why God put us on this earth.
Crap – It's fairly cheap, but cheap crap is still crap. Horrible service, dry bar food at its worst, and a management that is AT BEST shady. Yeah, big deal, they have a logo with a skull. It doesn't keep the place from sucking.
Surely you jest... – How this place is rated one of the top eateries in Atlanta is beyond me. As a bar, it's more than serviceable. It has an excellent selection of American beers. And reasonably priced to boot. However, once you migrate from the bar to the table, it's all down hill. We ordered cheeseburgers. I wanted medium rare and my wife wanted medium.
