Why ordering chicken is a better idea. – I have to confess... I never order a burger at the Vortex. And I know, in the Burger Capital of America (Wall St Journal said it, not me) this is one of THE spots for a proper Atlanta hamburger. But I always sub chicken at the Vortex, specifically with the Big Fat Jerk (now called the Rajin-Cajun) because the burgers are a little bit too big. An Experience !!!!! – My wife and I drive over 30 minutes to go to the Vortex, and we were Not let down. I can see why they were voted #1 burger in Atlanta. Everyone talked about how RUDE the are, NOT the experience that we had the server could not have been nicer, great easy going staff welcome you with open arms. Amazing Burgers – Great food in a fun atmosphere that only East Atlanta can provide. Only downside I've ever had here is when you're with a party larger than 6, they do not split checks...no matter what. It doesn't seem that bad until you are faced with the challenge of doing it yourself. They ask that you write down which items on the check you had, figure out the tax, and then pay with cash or card. Great Veggie Burger! – I love the vortex! Me and my boyfriend go there all the time. He loves all their burgers and I love their original veggie burger. I'm a vegetarian, so this is my favorite place to go, when I'm craving a veggieburger. Another secret: the tater tots are way better than the french fries. Also, if your a vegetarian, do not order the potato salad. There is bacon mixed in it. Overall, The Vortex is a great place to chill for lunch, or have some drinks at night.
Great Burgers, Great Drinks, Great Staff. – The Vortex is a high volume bar and burger joint. only idiots work there – This Vortex is better than the one in midtown, but that's not saying much. The food is actually pretty tasty. The wait is too long. It must be their trademark to have rude servers.
Vortex BAABBY !!! – This ain't your daddy's Cheers bar. The Vortex is attitude on steriods. As you walk in the door ...of a skull! The Service Staff at this Place are supposed to be Rude!!!! – The Service Staff are Meant to be Rude, that is the draw to this Hamburger Joint. If you are easily offended don't go there. This place is great! I love it. I am wrting this in response to the person (GTgirl01) who posted: "Rude Manager" on 2/19/08.
