Funky and Fun – This is a great place to go if you want to get back to your college roots and remember what the bohemian lifestyle is like. It is also cheap compared to what you usually pay for "yuppy" fair and the beer is cheap too. The burgers are monsterous.
8 – Great place for that one-of-a-kind hamburger. Best I have ever had.
Thursday's "Bike Nite" – Wow, what a great place to meet if you are a motorcycle fanatic. Thursday nights are the place to be. Great bikes, nice people, delicious big burgers. A nice combination. Way to go Vortex!!

The bar and dining room, while smallish, are both cozy and lively, and the decor is good. The burgers and other bar food are great and the drinks are strong. The upstairs patio area is a bit isolated from the tidal pool of activity downstairs, and it seems to have become a magnet for parents with young kids in tow, which is a drag. But this is a great place for hanging out or fueling up before a show at Variety o... read more
