About this business

Longing for an experience that will remind you of those glorious summers you spent on the Mediterranean as a child? Okay, maybe you didn't live there, but you'll soon feel like a true Sardinian in this very authentic Italian eatery that serves homemade rolls and thick, wide-noodle linguine. You may see a celeb or two hiding out incognito in the corner since this is a favorite hangout among the Main Street trend-setters. The small size and dark lighting also add to its very intimate and romantic feel, but the true draw is the... read more

Impressed Foodie – Let me start off with my motto: "Will travel for food." If I hear of a great restarurant, I will make an effort to go, regardless of where it is. A couple of friends of mine and I finally had dinner plans after our schedules had been conflicting for several months. None of us had been to this restaurant but I heard the food was amazing. I told my friends I made the reservation. One of my friends told me later that night that she had read reviews on here and was concerned. I convinced them to go and we all ... read more

exruciatingly bad experience – We arrived at 6:10 for a 6:30 res., first ones in the restuarant, seated at a tiny table. We asked if we could move to one of the 2 tables in the window(the only decent tables in the place) we were told they were already reserved. We ordered sparkling water and started in on the wine list. Looking at wines in the $50-$60 range the waiter immediately suggested 2 whites $90 and $95! Rude #1, next we went to order a starter and were told we needed to order our entire meal at the same time, rude #2... read more

Perfect! – I was very hesitant to go here after reading reviews of the service, but it was someone else's choice, and I ended up being very pleasantly surprised. Maybe others wrote bad reviews to deter others from going, so they can have this place to themselves? Anyway, my friend and I had a reservation for 8:30pm Saturday, were seated immediately, and never felt rushed. We were there probably two hours and had a bottle of water, bottle of wine ($65), two starters, two 'specials' entrees, and a great tiramisu. The grand tot... read more

Amazing Italian Food, But drop the Attitude and don't rush me! – I'd like to start on a positive note, the food was perfect!! The service from the wait staff was iimpeccable. There were four of us in my party, two married couples in our 30's. We were very well dressed, and by the time our meal was finished we had ordered two bottles of wine, four full entrees and two desserts. And now, the negative side of our experience. Before we could finish our main course, the owner repeatedly rushed by our table and barked out commands... read more

Incredible Experience – This is my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. I have been multiple times and have always had a wonderful experience. It is a great place to go with someone special or your family. Everyone I recommend Via Veneto to has said it is one of the best meals they have ever had. I highly recommend the burrata and proscuitto to start and the spinach ravioli for your meal. Every bite is delicious.

Authentic Italian cuisine in a tight, but romantic setting. – In Short This small storefront restaurant tightly packs in elegant tables, but the high ceilings, richly tiled floor and captivating paintings turn the potentially suffocating spot cozy and welcoming. Candlelight creates suitable illumination for romantic evenings. The starter menu includes prosciutto and melon and a lemon-dressed seafood salad of mussels, clams, calamari and shrimp. For entrees, the kitchen fills handmade ravioli with gourmet mixtures like diced ... read more

Ticky place. I say avoid – I've eaten there many times over the years. There's good and then there's really BAD. Food is good. Wait staff is very knowledgeable. Here is the problem. The guys who seat you are awful. Very surly. Very impatient. Three times now (and we are super nice when we go there to try to avoid the attitude) we go and either get yelled at to go stand outside by the hosts or told we'll just have to wait standing as our reservation turns from being 10 minutes wait to easily a half hour. Its not relaxed going... read more

Worst Service Ever – Hands down, the worst service I've ever witnessed in any part of the world. True Italians would be ashamed. The manager is a brute that yells at his patrons, the waiters are perpetually confused, and the food, albiet good, is not worth the grief. What a shame.

Good food - mean waiters, cramped and crowded atmosphere. – The food is good - I have to give this place props for that. Especially the cheese filled ravioli and the tiramisu. However the tables are too close to each other, the waiters are always trying to rush you and the lighting is a littel too dark. It's dark to the point where it hurts your eyes. I also think that this place - as trendy as it is might be a little overpriced. Portion were reasonable but not massive and the bill was!
