Personal Attention From Owner – Worth checking out. Food was perfectly cooked. Flavors were decent to good. We tried the lobster, crab, and veal raviolis--all were tasty and well-cooked but fell short of the claims from other raters. The langostinos (large shrimps) were expertly cooked but lacked exceptional flavor. The portebello mushroom appetizer were very tasty and had nice flavor. Bellissimo! – Let me start by saying that I'm a very tough customer. I'm a good cook, and as such I'm not impressed easily. 90% of restaurants get a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10 in my book. I expect delicious food, warm attentive service, and excellent value at all restaurants. Otherwise, there's no point in eating out, from my POV. Via Veneto delivers on all fronts. LIke being in Italy...UNREAL – "VIA VENETO" Ristorante, is with no doubt the best Italian restaurant we've visited in the States. There is only one other restaurant we've been to that can compete with it....but it's in Italy.... This Santa Monica's cozy little place serves the most simple and delicious food you can imagine. Try the home made ravioli and the grilled langostinos UNREAL. Excellent wine list, excellent service.
